Hey Guys,

I am back with something different. I decided to step outside of my comfort zone and work on Metal/Rock. I finally got some decent guitar amps/rigs to use. I hope you enjoy them and constructive criticism and feedback is always welcome.

Okay, so I listened to all 3 songs. Stating up front that my opinion is as worthless as a $3 bill, here it is.

What I think is good

Mixes are excellent. Arrangements are functional if not flashy. Performance is competent if also not flashy.

What I think can be improved

The songs themselves, if you can call them songs. They seem to lack structure and sound more like middle sections of songs where the lead guitarist or whoever does their thing. So they're more like jams, not that there's anything wrong with that. Problem is, there is little for the listener to latch onto as far as something to make it memorable. It's kind of like listening to a backing track with a lot missing. Now if song structure isn't important to you and you just want to jam, then ignore all of the "what can be improved" section and you're good to go. I'm sure there's an audience for this stuff. I'm just not it.

PS - I see you commented on 7 tracks on the front page. I hope you didn't trip while stumbling over my thread. Wouldn't want you to hurt yourself. Have a nice day.

Thanks Steven! I really appreciate the feedback. I get what you are saying concerning the structure. It does have a basic verse, chorus, bridge structure. However, I agree that sounds more like a jam session and doesn't stick out as much as it should. It probably comes down to the chord progression being somewhat basic and not enough variation when it comes to melody for the lead guitar.

Don't worry, I will be getting to your thread soon. LOL!

Interesting that it does have a basic verse chorus bridge structure. Possibly the reason it doesn't stand out is because the arrangement is static? There are no peaks and valleys. Everything seems to be on the same level throughout.

FWIW, my friends and I used to jam all the time, sometimes for hours. After a while, we didn't even know what the f**k we were playing. It's fun. But we were the only ones who wanted to listen to it. LOL.
