its a catchy tune, i found the mix to be somewhat lacking in dynamic range
and at times suffers clipping distortion from pushing the limiter too hard.
thus why i always say - never sacrifice clarity for loudness.
your spectrum analysis looks good with the bass end slanting to a lesser high end.
but the small gaps between the green bars and red line is a dead giveaway that
there is little dynamic range.

I played around with a limiter on the master a couple of weeks ago where I "overdid it" on purpose (for whatever reason). I accidently left it on, on the master.
(I'm still not very good at mixing and such so I tend to play around and overdo things to see what issues can be forced and learned from.)
I was so caught up in other things that I didn't even listen for any distortions.
The low dynamic is something I'm sure I wouldn't have heard on my own, so thanks for pointing that out.
I also think this was yet another lesson in not rushing things
I was stressed to get this out before bed time, and it clearly didn't work out, this time.
Any way, I have uploaded a new version I think is better.

Hey Daniel, i did listen to the new version. and like it better.
a good catchy tune without mix distractions just helps it flow
along that much better. good job

Reminds me a bit of Alice Deejay "Better off alone" in terms of uplifting energy and the lead you have carrying the melody! This really worked for me! Short, sweet, various effects to keep things interesting. When will it be on Spotify?
I'm taking notes on everything layzer has to say regarding mixing so that's the part that was really helpful!

Thanks for the feedback! It's rather cool to be compared to "Better Off Alone", I'll try to remain humble hehe.Optimusik21 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 8:36 pm Reminds me a bit of Alice Deejay "Better off alone" in terms of uplifting energy and the lead you have carrying the melody! I have been thinking about Spotify, but I'm still wondering if this tune is 100% done or not.
It would be my first track on there, so kinda want it to be good!
