You have to either buy "Core + Electro Drums" or, if you own "Core" already, buy "Electro Drums" from Misfits Audio (25$ ATM)!

Otherwise there a no overlaps between the bundles, and I've bought a lot in the last 2 years...
Of course in functionality, there are several similarities, and you can get lost quickly (speaking of myself!).

And you get credit for the things you own if buying a bundle that includes those products.
So I got the "Year 2" bundle for 10,66$ because the new Polysynth was the only product I didn't own already. Same with the "Year 1" bundle last year which I got dirt cheep.
so if I have ignite and upgrade to core...does any of that overlap with years 1 + 2? I actually already went ahead and purchased years 1 + 2 but still confused about core a little bit.

edit: ok so no overlap. Thanks again!

oh hot damn it includes the drums too! :tu:

Don't know if it's quicker posting here or on the VM Forum, but just had an issue trying to buy the HetrickCV Volume 1 bundle from the Cherryaudio.com store. Got the message "Unauthenticated" back from trying to buy it either via PayPal or via directly entering a card and I know there's nothing wrong with either of my cards.
the store is up know again. their was an update, didn't worked well, the person responsible for the website fixed it. see the voltage modular user group on facebook. perhaps also the forum of cherry audio (on their website?).
Cheers, just tried again and it worked fine this time. :tu:

I’ve had VM since it came out, but only just picked up the Year One collection and now I’ve just got to mention how great the Year One presets are. Given me a load of ideas for triggering sequencers only while you play. One preset in particular called "Lazy Daze", a kind of generative looper where the sequence gets altered every few loop iterations is particularly beautiful.

Technically that's true; the bundle is called "Core + Electro Drums". I don't think I've ever seen them sell just Core by itself though; it's always come bundled with Electro Drums (formerly Misfit Drums) since day one. Certainly the package you can buy today from Cherry or a reseller like EveryPlugin is "Core + Electro Drums".

i go to the presets, to learn, Lazy Daze i never listened, problably because it needs the euclidian duel (now on sale, i begged for it...).
it is indeed a beatiful patch. i don't use sequencer a lot, but now, more for control for cv, not pitch of an oscillator, for example.
the year one collection is excellent, i had already quite some modules, when it was first in sale.

i stepped in later, february 2019... for the plugin host, modulating, vst's. effects. but strangely the path went another way, also the deep path of my wallet. is that an expression? it is now..

but i will use more seqeuncer, the dual, also acquired the rythm divider, and porSHa, ow how it is called, for polyrythms... the vari-step sequencer, small letters, i am old..., is great for more experimental sequencing. you can chain them easily. great for cv modulation.
made a patch with it yesterday, with the caudal module of vult, as first module, and a lot of feedback loops, so i call them, the vari-step sequencer keeps somewhat of a control.

o so many possibilities. thanks for Lazy Daze, inspiring!

i already had the nucleus from pluginboutiques website and now bought the polymode from cherry audios site.
as i am a total modular noob, it was a bit of a letdown after opening the presets and 90% of them didnt play because some modules were deactivated and they had the outputs connected to the audiosystem. so i put them in demo-mode. then rushed thru the presets. great, thats why i was intrigeud by polymode in the first place. :D
but it would be a nice thing to give an information upfront that you need to have a few more modules than are available in the voltage modular nucleus pack.

but my question is, again as a total modular noob, when the demo time is over, am i still able to use polymode to make my own patches together with the nucleus modules or do i have to purchase some new ones, from the demos?

Demo files will still open after the modules used in them are past their demo period, the modules will just show up as deactivated and they'll be bypassed which could completely break the routing or just make it not sound as good, you'll probably have to suck it and see.

As for Polymode, you can get Polymode to work by dragging an instance of it onto an empty cabinet and connecting the MIX output to the 1L Main Out. It would work fine because Cherry Audio introduced something in version 2 which permits modules set up for it to do automatic connection defaults so the default is for a polyphonic instrument it assumes you are connecting the Poly Pitch and Poly Gate from Poly Sources to the module which means you can get sound out of it almost instantly (assuming you are connecting to a MIDI keyboard and you've set all that stuff up in the preferences already).

I agree Cherry Audio could do better limiting their demos to feature the most fundamental core modules AND the module they are demoing. Or at least up the balance to feature more of the core modules. I guess the thinking is it doesn't hurt their sales for people to be reminded they are 'missing out' on a module that shows up deactivated in a patch because the user doesn't own it. Maybe they could introduce a 'demo/read only' mode for patches where people can use all the modules in the patch irrespective of owning or having already demoed them and the kicker is they can't do anything to alter the patch other than change performance options like macro knob positions or the volume?

One of the worst for this is Benard whose presets liberally use modules from all of their bundles so you probably need to buy everything just to get some simple patches working. And you need to see demos with the Benard stuff because it's not at all obvious what some of the modules do and how they interoperate. Their modules and bundles look interesting, but they should spend some time and effort on making some easy-ish to follow videos to show off their functionality. Maybe bung a few dollars at that Venus Theory guy and ask him to show them off, he seems to do a good job.

Bit of help with the upgrade path!

I have the original free nucleus. Should I go next for ignite and then upgrade to the core collection? Or is there a different path way in?

Thanks!

I've been around for many years in several forums and never say this. This is a thread that I most enjoy following. Since the first page. So many smiles and happy faces, fixes..improvements, gifts, surprises..and most of all the developer is highly active, so communicative and truly listened to the users voice. Including most of the partners. It's like a big warm family in here, as one big VM environment. I never experienced anything like this before. Wish all the best to the developer and partners, also to the community. Truly wish that good things will keep on flowing for many years to come. With the great spirit of entertainment and perfection.

I would just buy Core directly. It's only $42 right now (everyPlugin.com) which is the normal price for Ignite anyway. (And Core is a strict superset of Ignite, so you wouldn't be missing any modules that way.)

The only reason to buy Ignite now would be through the current Humble Bundle, if you were particularly interested in either Mixcraft, Pianissimo, or any of the loop packs. It's only $30 (which is only $9 more than Ignite by itself) so it's a legit deal. But then I'd immediately go buy the upgrade to Core from everyPlugin.com for $21 while it's still on sale.

That's actually a great idea to get to Core! Lot's of food for the Samplers, a nice piano and a mature DAW as VST host. A no brainer for anyone who are into Mixcraft or the sample library. Further more, upgrade to Mixcraft 9 Pro Studio is just $79, including Glass Viper, ME-80, Messiah, VB-3, Melodyne Essentials, etc. Total: Core + Pro Studio + Samples = $140, still cheaper than buying the Pro Studio which is $149 in the official store.

It's great to see Cherry Audio has more partner. As an Ableton user, it's going to be awesome if they could work together as well, resulting in a more optimized performance and deep integration with Push.

The piano VST is not 64 bit but I wrote the dev and was sent a 64 bit version.

That's nice, but must be made for public actually. I'm a fan of the ME-80 and Messiah, wonder about the Memorymoon which is still a 32bit vsti. Is it running through some kind of a bridge there..or maybe the daw is able to run 32bit plugins?

They could be another great partner with the CS-80/Prophet 5/MemoryMoog emulation expertise. No module for those yet. Deckard Dream time.
