About to take the plunge into VM.
Any advice on which are the quality modules to scoop up in the sale? I was going to go all in and grab the Year 1 & 2 bundles - but are the others worth checking out?

Definitely those 2 bundles and definitely get the Ultimate PSP bundle while it's on sale (it's a third its usual price right now). The rest it's more down to what you want to do because some are maths/functional related and others generative music related or analog filter/voice related, so maybe find your feet first. Although it must be said the Benard vol 1-3 bundles are the cheapest I've seen them currently and they do have a lot of extra functionality, but not well documented especially for noobs.elbowbacon wrote: ↑Thu Sep 10, 2020 2:19 pm About to take the plunge into VM.

One bundle I do love which is cheap as chips is the Drift bundle at $15. I've been working on a mental preset recently that produces arpeggios where each note is drifting differently, great fun and sounds unique.

Also, forgot to add, maybe worth checking out their live event tonight in case there are other goodies on offer or product announcements. CherryDan seems to have been dropping hints of 'something' on the horizon.
It's due to start at 7PM GMT - that's 6PM BST (current UK time)

(i have psp ultimate, andrew macaulay ultimate, weevil one year bundle, MRB laboratory bundle, o well all MRB bundles (up to now), the unfiltered audio bundle, the ben davis bundle, the one and two year bundles, for instance. and some modules here and there. and some more bundles. but you see it is based on my preferences. next step will be, problably a benard bundle. but not this sale.)

Check out the 2 Vult bundles, they’re my favorites along with the PSP complete bundle.elbowbacon wrote: ↑Thu Sep 10, 2020 2:19 pm About to take the plunge into VM.

Oh yeah forgot those were on sale and at a great reduction too. I just wish I didn't know how much better the deal is on the Vult bundle for VCV Rack.simmo75 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 10, 2020 3:41 pmCheck out the 2 Vult bundles, they’re my favorites along with the PSP complete bundle.elbowbacon wrote: ↑Thu Sep 10, 2020 2:19 pm About to take the plunge into VM.

Depends on what you need or want. If you like FM, definitely Zeroscillator and eFeMerizer (included in some PSP bundle). I like the airy quality of their sampler which reminds me a bit of a vintage E-mu sampler, there's a simple one in the Digi Drums along with some crunchy 8bit samples. Upgrade with a discount for the Poly Version of the MS-20. MRB Lab is dope, with lots of presets and they regularly adding more modules, 2 more is coming based from the interview. Mod Delay is crazy good for such a simple one https://youtu.be/FdcairXpKeo I'm a delay and reverb freak, it's a tasty one. Due to the high quality engine of the voltage modular and the module itself, it has certain charm that I like from Acustica Lemon, but with way less CPU.elbowbacon wrote: ↑Thu Sep 10, 2020 2:19 pmI was going to go all in and grab the Year 1 & 2 bundles - but are the others worth checking out?
Those are what I consider the best additional to both years collection to me.

yes the vult bundles! i have them! also for the VCV rack...
the deal is better for VCV rack, agreed... o more ports are coming and polyphony, i contacted the developer. there are some stumbling blocks (is that the right expression), and he is working on something else now, but it is coming..
now figuring out why the hell VM will eat up my cubase without any reason. o well, rewire reaper and it works, even with better cpu/buffer performance.
people can work with VM in cubase, but i don't why my system, i have done everything i could do, has those massive peaks, average load is very normal, for a soft modular.
and yes of course: the mod delay, build your own effects, many effects are build with delay lines (and feedback)...

Is there an upgrade path from Nucleus? I see one from Ignite to Core, but not Nucleus which seems to have a lot from Core anyways.
