Not a SoundFont player (i already have those), but a VST instrument that has all 128 instrument sounds that MIDI has. As in, the presets are the names of those MIDI instruments. Hopefully, someone knows what I'm talking about and can tell me if it exists.

TTS-1 comes with Cakewalk by Bandlab (used to come with Cakewalk Sonar too). It has the genuine sound of aged cheese. It takes up to sixteen inputs but has just four audio outputs. I seem to recall that's contrary to General MIDI but could be wrong.
However, it's a DXi (Microsoft's plug-in format, intended to compete with VSTi but it went nowhere) so it won't work in most (maybe all) other hosts. And it's clunky, which is to be expected of a fifteen-year-old plug-in. And you have to load each channel separately, not one-GM-sound-per-preset.

Hey guys, remember me? I already seem to have a General MIDI preset pack in FL Studio's FLEX! It's probably the best preset pack if I do say so myself

That one is a LV2 plugin and not a VST like the O.P was asking for. As for a VST plugin with General MIDI style sounds, there's Purity by Sonic Cat being one that I use myself.thecontrolcentre wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2020 12:56 am Do you mean General Midi (GM) sounds?
This maybe ...

Also, the irony of correcting someone on the topic of plugin format with my username is not lost in me

There is a free dxi wrapper, should work with all hosts supporting shell vsts.Meffy wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2020 1:02 am TTS-1 comes with Cakewalk by Bandlab (used to come with Cakewalk Sonar too).
