I've made a post about the plugins suddenly refusing to connect to my DAWs properly. It's a real shame; they were such unique plugins. They emulated animal sounds, rather than simply sampling them. Has anyone ever used a plugin like this that isn't Fauna or Elder Thing? Please let me know and try to link it. I'd prefer it to be free, but I'm a bit desperate at this point.

The moment I read your post, this music popped into my head...

So I would say any of the modular VSTs might prove fruitful?
(Of course you may have to do the programming.)
Arturia Modular
U-he Bazille
U-he Ace
Korg MS-20
Voltage Modular
(To name a few.)
For free, maybe look to the Full Bucket Music site?

vcvrack has a "Everlasting Glottal Stopper" oscillator based on the Rosenburg model of human's larynx https://github.com/almostEric/FrozenWas ... /README.md
it also has some free formant filters, maybe useful

I would probably go the other way around... record myself imitating animals and then use FX like Specops and Vocalsynth. Much more fun, too!
