See if you can find the Frank Genus Trains of Thought Collide (TOTC) patches. They are brilliant. He might have set them free after he retired.

Is there any relation there (soundwise) with predator or any of the newest releases?

Predator has some structural similarities to Albino but they were produced by different developers: Linplug for Albino and Jon Ayres for all the other Rob Papen plugins. They have a different core sound.
I still use Albino - really flexible and barely registers on the CPU meter.
