Hi, I've seen awesome pieces like Steven Slate trigger, Drumagog, Addictive triger and more, but I don't need to replace drums from other audio. What I want is to create my own drum samples in any DAW with at least 3 or 4 velocity layers, simply and without complications but with a decent pro approach. What are my options?

Decomposer Sitala would be your perfect match. But no velocity layer feature. NI Battery 4? Heavy weighted with learning curve. But worth the pro features IMO.Jazzguitar wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 12:10 amWhat I want is to create my own drum samples in any DAW with at least 3 or 4 velocity layers, simply and without complications but with a decent pro approach.

Geist 2? I do a lot of drum creation in it. Lots of layers and FX. You can easily shape the sounds - it's pretty much a sampler.
Ez to use once you get you head around it. Its got a great workflow too.

Thanks everyone, great tools! good ideas from video tutorial, risome. I think Kick is just for kick and 'depth' stuff yes?
Decomposer Sitala even with one layer would go nice for quick setups, for a artificial "layer" feature maybe there could be a idea by using two instances of Sitala and setting some velocity (pre) filter like MIDI Polysher.
I think will go with Battery since I used it some years ago, so is some familiar to me.
Geist 2 look REALLY great but I think it only run in Windows 10 ? I am on 7 for my audio PC.
More suggestions?

Demo Geist2. Most things that work on Windows 10 work on 7. Companies just can't officially support old OS's but it'll most likely work without issue.

Just tried it, didn't work (w7 64). I will install in laptop (W10), not my music center but at least I can test.

Thanks, great and very streamlined option. Also it is TX16Wx from which I had a misconceive impression and had forget it, but now is in 64 bits version.THK wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 6:36 am https://www.onesmallclue.com/

Thanks, well maybe I got here to get under tutankam-00100101-n digital curse. I also tried it in my son and a friend PC's (W7) and nothing, it installs but it gives an error message type incompatibility of OS and not run. We tested it on Reaper, Cubase, FL and Blue Cat patchwork, nothing, simply refuse to load in 4 different pc instances of W7.
Anyway Geist 2 is out of my budget scope. Already trying with my old copy of Battery 3, and also with Grooove BPB, Poise, Grace and TX16Wx. I will post my decision, but I think I will leave all of them at hand, since those 3 are free, and attentive to more suggestion here.

Geist 2 is great... Excellent workflow for using your own samples. Also, you can do sampling right in Geist to sample synths etc.
I also find Geist sounds good really easily. What I mean is, my own kits sound coherent together easily. Geist FX are good.
