I've heard the same, but I've not bothered with Softube as it had a much smaller number of modules available and seemed a fair bit more expensive overall. I think a lot of people strive for a particular sound they've heard before in the real world, but as I'm not bothered about that I'm very happy with both Voltage Modular and the (largely) free rival VCV Rack. The thing that interests me most in modular is the scope for linking modules to create generative music and they both offer loads more options in that area than Softube.4damind wrote: Mon Nov 02, 2020 3:44 pm Have not tested it yet, what I read is that the GUI is better but the quality of the emulations is not as good as with Softube?
Cherry Audio's CA2600 is available NOW!

I think that the Softube Modular is better than Voltage Modular, at least in terms of getting the sound of analog right, but I found it to be very CPU hungry and when I was using the demo I’d often run out of CPU as I was getting to something interesting. Voltage Modular still sounds pretty good and is a lot easier on the ol’ CPU. I also think Softube blew it by not producing more modules and pricing things too high. I think Reaktor sounds as good as Softube Modular, has way more variety and if you’re not using a lot of audio rate modulations, you can run it at your project’s audio rate and save some CPU cycles.4damind wrote: Mon Nov 02, 2020 3:44 pmHave not tested it yet, what I read is that the GUI is better but the quality of the emulations is not as good as with Softube?WatchTheGuitar wrote: Mon Nov 02, 2020 3:35 pm Well, you'd love Cherry Audio's main product then - Voltage Modular - the one they made their name with. It looks like this...

I am pretty sure the (extra narrow )resonant peak is faked , I can get there 99% close with 20 year old reaktor primary modules , behaving under the exact same circumstances .
I would really like a answer from cherry audio

No
Adding a sine wave to mimic resonance and promoting your product as an accurate arp 2600 emu is just cheating, it's not emulating the filter at all ...
The added narrow band resonance sounds nothing like a self feedbacking filter
But let's hold our horses , nothing has been proven or confirmed by cherry audio , but If I am right about this , it's a valid reason to steer away from this company , for me at least .
But I don't ecxpect an answer from them , they hardly give any info ..except promo and endorsement videos

Here is a simple square wave on both the Arturia and Cherry Audio. Resonance set to max and filter cutoff at 2.2kHz.
Blue = Arturia
Orange = Cherry Audio
Looks almost identical.

Is it 64bit and is the GUI big enough for higher definition monitors?
