Too bad it was abandoned.
The GForce and KORG versions are ARP Odessey's though, not ARP 2600. However, I don't really know the exact difference.

The Odyssey is a simplified 2600. It has fewer features, and instead of letting you freely patch things it has switches that represent the most commonly used connections. But I believe the components they both have are the same; the overall tone and character is very similar, and I suspect any patch you can make with the Odyssey should translate to the 2600.starflakeprj wrote: Mon Nov 02, 2020 11:41 pm The GForce and KORG versions are ARP Odessey's though, not ARP 2600. Korg’s Odyssey plugin is amazing. I have the ARP Odyssey hardware (the Korg module) and have been able to get the plugin to sound almost identical to the hardware (takes some patient tweaking, as the positions of the controls on any plugin pretty much never match the hardware). When I have a chance, I’ll try matching some patches with the CA2600 and Arturia 2600 V.

A question to Cherry Audio team: Any plans for NKS compatibility for DCO-106 and CA2600?

The original 2600 didn't have osc sync , unlike the oddisey
Verry nice of cherry audio to implement that feature , all oddisey patches should translate well to CA2600
Also , on what filter is it modelled , it sure as hell does NOT sound like a 4pole ladder filter .

I just recorded a track with primarily DCO-106 and CA2600. Everything sounds great, and they’re pretty lightweight on the cpu. I was able to add quite a few instances without my laptop breaking a sweat. I do have to say that the CA2600 interface faithfully recreates the real 2600 UI, which means that it gives me a headache and makes me want to run screaming from the room. That’s a hard pass on the Behringer clone, thank you very much, but for the into price of CA2600, I couldn’t resist. Mostly I’m using presets and then spending five minutes hunting around for how to modulate the filter cutoff with an LFO.
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

I would like to hear a detailed ring mod comparison with the hardware 2600.
And it can process external audio through its signal path (FX Version)?

Tried matching a couple of my Odyssey patches with CA2600. I currently have a slow sweep sound on my hardware Odyssey. As expected, I was able to match it pretty easily in the Korg plugin (they're practically identical).
Took a bit of work, but I eventually managed to get it sounding very close with CA2600 (I'd say close enough). Naturally, just matching slider positions is not good enough, but they're not so far off that you can't use that as a starting point. I can't quite get the envelope shape to match. The overall timing is about the same, but the curve is definitely different. It could simply be that the ADSR in the 2600 is a different component than the Odyssey.
I also took a crack at matching the same patch with the Arturia 2600 V. I can get it in the same ballpark, but the resonance has to be turned way down, and even then it still doesn't sound right. Would like to see Arturia take another crack at the filter because they haven't quite nailed it. I still like their version — it includes the sequencer, supports polyphony and aftertouch, has advanced curves, etc. — but it's trailing the pack in terms of sound quality.
A few general comments about the CA2600:

A few general comments about the CA2600:
- The sliders are a bit "jumpy". When I click one and start dragging, it initially shifts up or down about 10–15px, which makes it a bit fiddly and frustrating to make precise changes. This is at 100% UI scale, which is quite large even on my 5K iMac, and the sliders are still not precise.
- Sliders are kinda hard to see. Cherry Audio should take a cue from Arturia here and make the background a bit lighter so the sliders have better contrast. (This is only really an issue with the Orange & Black theme. The other two are fine.)
- Sliders display appropriate values (like ms for envelope time stages, percentage for sustain and mod amounts, cents for fine tune, etc.).
- You can double-click controls to enter values numerically. I wish every plugin supported this.
- Option-click controls to reset to default value (or right click).
- Since the trial expires after 30 days and is locked to my account, the occasional white noise seems unnecessary and gets annoying.

Amazing offering here, Dan. Hoping to see some unusual choices in the future. No one has bothered to emulate the Jomox Sunsyn yet...

Here are two files , both files contain a cherry audio and reaktor ensemble audio file , with stock primary modules using a sine wave for fake resonance
Thy sound verrry close , to close to consider the CA2600 be analogue modelled at all , given the fact I used 20 year old primary modules and fake resonance
It's so obviouis when you increase the resoance starting from 70 % , just one harmonic is boosted(added) a few hertz above the actual cutoff point , afaik this does not happen with any filter

Oh ok re copy protection it needs a web connection to phone home each time it’s launched. It uses that to look for updates, but I don’t know what happens if there’s no connection.
