Hi,
I am trying to activate a Pro license on my PC.

After installing v3 I get asked if I want to use the found license -

Could not activate product. Key not valid for use in specified state.

When I enter my upgrade license -

Error validating license. Key not valid for use in specified state.

If I try to save an offline request -

"Error validating license. Could not generate activation request Key not valid for use in specified state."

You probably need to both update the installed version and remove some corrupted file. There was a bug back in v3.3 somewhere which caused some installs (OS dependent) to constantly renew and occasionally corrupt licence data.

Your solution worked immediately, just had to delete the folder:
c:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\CWLM
or on a Mac:
~/Library/Application Support/CWLM
and then register again.

Please bear in mind that this will delete the activations on your computer, but _not_ on the licence server. So you loose the activations. Send an email to the above address and I will manually remove stale activations, but in general, as long as you use up-to-date builds you should not run into these issues. Until Apple does some other API change... :-/
