“Time Machine” is an original tribute song for Neil Peart/Rush featuring guitars from Dan Cubert and Alan Scott and vocals from Robin Schell. I am playing keyboards, Linnstrument, NS Stick, and Zendrum.

Didn't they call one of their recent tours 'Time Machine'?
Enjoyed the listen - plenty of variation, but it all holds together as a single track.
Definitely in that Rush progressive heavy rock arena!
Voice was spookily Geddy for the first few seconds!

No idea who Rush is, but I enjoyed the journey in this one - good musicians.
Just an old bloke who likes listening to a wide range of music. I also fart quite a lot!

I just got them on Google and it says that they are from Canada?
Have to admit having now given them a listen I would not call them very mainstream either - some of it is quite complicated, lengthy and full of variety. Definitely not Boston or Journey is it?
Like it though and I understand this piece here more now - very skilled.

I'm a big fan of Rush ever since the 70's. Nice nods to Tom Sawyer, Cygnus X-1 and 2112 in the beginning I believe? Not easy to pull off Rush-inspired music successfully but I think you do a great job, even the vocals fit really well.

Thanks very much for the kind words. I feel very lucky to have worked with some great players on this tune. The vocalist is an amazing singer/keyboard player from the UK (Robin Schell). He was concerned he sounded too much like Geddy Lee but that is just the way he sings. All of the vocal arrangements were his.
Alan Scott who plays the first guitar solo is an incredible guitarist from Washington DC area that I am fortunate enough to gig with when people did that sort of thing.
My brother Dan produced/mixed etc. and played the second guitar solo and all the rhythm guitars - he is the actual professional musician/engineer in our family.
Rush is definitely all Canadian but from watching a documentary I learned that radio airplay in the USA did help launch them as major artists. From what I can tell, they combined being brilliant artists with being genuinely good people.

Great tribute to a fantastic band and fabulous people. All the requisite sounds and styles are there. I have loved Rush since I first heard 2112. It blew my mind. Everything is spot on. Vocals sound a bit "Yes" to me at times.
Well done!

Thanks for all the kind words! Robin's voice is definitely in the Yes register as well. He has solo pieces up on Bandcamp and is in a UK duo called Life In Digital that has a lot of Yes-like vocal qualities.

Robin definitely sounds like the more recent Geddy (mid '80s onwards), so I think that's a good thing. The track as a whole definitely has Rush vibes a-plenty, and you have managed to carry it off with aplomb. I think Neil would have approved of the lyrics.
I saw Rush 4 times back in the '70s and '80s. Great band.
