I think the best quality TTS stuff can only be done with the help of the server. At least for the time being, that's what Matt stated some pages back I believe.Ploki wrote: Mon Nov 16, 2020 2:24 pm Oh, understandable, and the price really isn't bad. Is it AI/machine learning thing?

I can confirm that this thing is awesome, I'm so glad I held off buying Serum, well actually I canceled the splice rent to own a couple years ago. This reminds me as if Serum, Europa and Massive had a baby. I really like how it has two spectral morphing units on it, proper fun that is. I don't normally use presets but there's a lot of them that I really like and I haven't even made it halfway through them. I like what I've tried of the wavetables too. I did the youtube deal for 20 bucks but when money isn't so tight I'll probably shell out some more to get the extra wavetables. Has there been a manual written for Vital yet? I haven't looked through the files yet and I'm wondering what format the wavetables should be in? Like bit depth or size of the wavetables? I'm already thinking about how to get more wavetables for it and bringing over wavetables from other synths, I'm pretty sure this is going to be the only wavetable synth I use now. This has been a great year for VST, first HY-Poly and now Vital. I'm waiting for a paid version for Exakt lite to come out now and I'll be all set for a long time.
In the future there will be robots!

I'll bring this up again....You can create a custom folder for your own presets and if it has a subfolder in it called Presets it will show up in the Browser but....If you try to save a Patch even if that custom folder has focus in the Browser the patch is saved to User>Presets.
Yes you can physically move the patch file into your custom folder but obviously that is not an optimal condition. You can also Export the patch but that requires you to manually navigate to the folder you wish to save in. If you're working with WT files then you're constantly navigating between the WT folder and the Preset folder. Again not an optimal situation.
The expected behavior would be that patches are saved into whatever folder has focus in the browser not automatically in to the User>Presets folder.
This allows us to have our custom folder with not only Presets but LFO shapes, Samples and Wavetables. It will also allow us to share our presets etc with others without everything ending up in the User folder.
If someone is active on Discord maybe you could pass it along. I find Discord visually overloading. I'm hoping perhaps Matt might see the post here.

I make my own sound, it has wave I have created with wave edit in Vital & FX in Vital & modulation. If I sellect my own preset folder (let say My Best Sound) and I save it there? Does it work then?

I like the 'preview modulation' feature, is that a new thing or a borrowed idea?

It's a pre-release and only $20 but I can't say I'm enjoying having my reports of crashing here and at Discord being ignored. The standalone crashes for me. It barely even flashes an empty window and it locks up my MIDI keyboard for a few minutes afterward. FWIW there is a crash log text file ("crash.txt") in the same folder as the presets.

Vital's going on the shelf for me until some time later. I'm going to play guitar. Oh, BTW, the last few builds have all had the same version number, so if you're having some troubles and wondering if there are fixes, check the "builds" ... stream? server? thread? ... in Discord which shows you al the builds and you can compare the build date to see if the current build is newer than what you have installed. It also says what's been fixed.

Bought it too. Because the bahaviour of the first enelope is exactly the same as with the rest of the envelopes, I don't see anymore issue with not having modular envelopes. I can use the first envelope with a full sustain and then assigning other envelopes to Oscillator volumes. For instance, this was not the case with Arturia Pigments, where with any workaround I was ending up with instability of the secondory envelopes, such as unstable attacks and so on).
Vital so far works without any artificial clicks, glitches. Six Envelopes and Eight LFOs. What an amazing synth. Love it.

Are you running another audio app at the same time, out of interest?pough wrote: Mon Nov 16, 2020 6:17 pm It's a pre-release and only $20 but I can't say I'm enjoying having my reports of crashing here and at Discord being ignored. Does your soundcard have multiclient drivers?
Just a hunch, probably wrong.

No and... no? I use the basic built-in soundcard for regular audio and another soundcard (old M-Audio 2496) for ASIO applications. Works fine for everything else. It's possible the standalone is trying to grab the wrong thing and getting confuzled.VariKusBrainZ wrote: Mon Nov 16, 2020 6:25 pm Are you running another audio app at the same time, out of interest?

I wonder if there is a settings file I can manually alter... That's what I did for some of the Sampleson standalones that needed some tweaking to work properly. Can't find one, so far.
Not a huge deal, at the moment. I think an actual bug report... channel? stream? server? ... will be set up on Discord when Vital actually goes live. I can wait. Vital's standalone is not (forgive me) vital at the moment.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

I'm not sure if already can make feature request.)
1. It is possible to accedently delete a wavetable folder from a wavetable window. Could be nice to have a confirmation message.
2. A one knob High pass filter in the sample oscillator.
3. Copy/Paste between oscillators

Youved probably tried but disable one of your soundcards and then see if it runs. After that it 'should' choose that output in future and so be safe to re enable the other one.pough wrote: Mon Nov 16, 2020 6:40 pmNo and... no?
