I make a youtube video with the sound i've made with vital. Yeah, it's not Diva or Lush. But it's inspiring. The last time i made this many preset was with Hive.

Btw here's what i think :
+ Very easy to use, visualization was great.
+ Importing external wavetable was easy, i end up using TI2 wavetable for a lot of my patches.
+ Text to wavetable recognize my language, nice.
+ Stereo lfo is fun for movement.

- The filter is definitely lacking.
- The distortion need more mode.
- It's kinda thin.

(It's in Indonesian language, but you can click on chapters to just listen to each loop i've made)

I'm getting a Windows Defender alert that tells me the plugin is a trojan. The threat is considered "severe". It's the first time I get this kind of alert from Defender, so it doesn't look good.

Even if I wanted to, I can't download it. Defender deletes it automatically.

I think I'll pass, I have SERUM anyways and I'd be surprised if it's better.

I see same issues with other people saying they have warnings for virus. Not nice
Anyone confirm if this is real virus or false positive??

I downloaded the synth with no issues. Bitdefender didn't even blink while normally it is very agressive against unknown files.

false positives! i have noticed that virus scanners become more and more aggresive with the installers i have, even for ASC (arturia software center; mainly problematic installments, disabling AVAST, works..). (disclaimer: all is legal!). they scan first the installer, i get not a lot of false positives, i have AVAST (yes i know, but you can disabled it..).

but clearly, i repeat, virus scanners are aggressive. a good thing, i think, i am no expert, but only one normal call, or whatever you call it, that is strange for the virus scanner in context, alarm!

(except of course; if the site has been hacked, oh no. it isn't... there is always this, when i doubt:

and for peace sake: i tested it, uploaded the file of vital, version 1.0.3 (where are the release notes??), nothing detected.

you are quite right. i complain that i can't place ironic messages, comments, in my own language, i am better in my own language..

and i see i am also a victim, and i am complainer, about the loss of ability to get the irony.

Hi guys, when you don't care about presets and already have wavetables, what's the point of Plus vs Free ? Are the Plus included WT special ? Must have other benefits than only presets and WT quantity ?

Yeah, I have the exact same problem and there's nothing I can do to prevent Windows from deleting the file. I wish there was a workaround, especially if it's a false positive.

Your PC isn't deleting it unless you let it. All you have to do is not accept the default a couple of times and it will install perfectly well.

Might be a offending question, but did you also close the filter when moving the resonance.
It does not change the sound (much) if the filter cutoff is 100% open while moving the resonance slider...

Duh, yeah, I managed to do that. Playing around a bit more now, after listening to the Jupiter Bass patch, I can see what the problem was this morning - turning up the drive kills the resonance stone dead. But, let's be honest, there is not a whole lot going on with the resonance anyway. In fact, the filters are incredibly weak, probably the worst I've heard since the early LinPlug synths. It wouldn't matter how good the rest of it was, this is an instant deal-breaker.

If you're after a good, free synth, I suppose this is OK but, even with all its limitations compared to the commercial version, HY-Poly Free is a better deal.

If I'm not mistaken, the plus version might have more Text to wavetables per day than the free version (at least the Pro version has). But basically you can use the free version if you're not interested to get those extra presets or wavetables... It's just a nice way to support the developer if you like the synth

You can disable defender? Install it and then activate defender again.

Given I got 1000 wavetables from HG sounds in the current Groupbuy, I'm not short of wavetables (plus the Serum / phaseplant / all the other ones I've downloaded) and presets are mostly there to get ideas, I can make do with the free version, I can't see any real benefit of the paid versions, to me personally.

Saying that, a man has to eat, so at some point (but not during black friday week) I will purchase a version.

What I did notice is that the mod matrix is very basic. The destination choice is just "Filter 1", which affects cutoff only. So no modulating the resonance amount or Drive value or anything else. Still, what can you expect for free?

You're wrong. You can modulate cutoff, resonance and the shape of the filter. The best way is dragging and dropping from LFO or envelopes with the mouse, rather than searching in the matrix.

There is indeed something not right with the filter resonance. A ladder filter with max resonance should easily go into self oscillation up to a point where you barely even hear the original sound anymore but only a sine wave produced by the filter.
