Okay, so probably not that new or adventurous, but it was a lot of fun to put together. Basic design: VCV Rack controls a variety of video playback parameters in Pure Data (Pd) via OSC, both programs running on the same machine. A single oscillator provides the audio source (Basic VCO from the Squinky Labs plugin), with much sonic sweetening from the Valley Audio Plateau reverb and the excellent Chronoblobs2 delay unit from Alright Devices. Lots of work done by the Stoermelder 8Face presets sequencer, an incredibly cool module.
I've attached the Pd patch if anyone's interested in it. Apologies for hiding the cabling in VCV Rack, it's pretty ratty. I'll post the patch at patchstorage after some clean-up.
See the YT notes for more details. Comments welcome, as always.
Best regards,
dp

Thoroughly enjoyed this one...got totally lost in a 1970s science fiction narrative halfway through!
I so appreciate all the serious synth knowledge on KVR...The deepest i ever got into 'real' synthesis was my Yamaha CS-30 (inherited / borrowed it for a couple of years in the mid 80s) had the most confusing fuckin' panel ever...made little sense for a week or so!

My thanks to you all ! I'm glad you felt it was time well-spent.
This patch continues to evolve. I've added more features to the Pd patch, with correspondingly more control via VCV Rack. If I get the motivation I'll post an update sometime.
Best regards,

@vurt - Thank you ! I have a new version, some of the music has been changed (just a little) but the main work has gone into improving the video capabilities of the Pd patch. New video coming soon.
