Ah, well thanks for the heads-up then, as I think you may have posted the original link here. :tu:

here's some waves wavetable lappers==>
these are apparently Access Virus C waves,
let me know if they work in Vital
- which seems to be a hell of an art to me
https://www.sendspace.com/pro/dl/n74a5q

these are copyright free afaik, just another wavetable set if u like such things
they are originally ripped from Viral Extinction- A Reaktor Virus C clone
I wonder what I want in here
-my site is gone and music a mess

Just snuck in a bit of WFH Vital play.

First impressions of the free version? Wow. Really, thanks a lot Matt for this.

Great work, Matt, thanks a lot!
I first learned about Vital quite some time ago when I googled for "open source wavetable synth" because I was interested in the state of the art of wavetable oscillators, their antialiasing, morphing, etc. (besides Vital, surge was another interesting hit).
But now, unfortunately, I don't read about Vital becoming open source anymore. Did the plans change or will the sources be published? For me, open source would make a real difference over other competitors on the wavetable market.
Anyway, Vital is a great addition, thanks.

I think the plan changed when the project got big enough -- fair, considering how much work went into it. I guess if he makes it open source, it will be a few years from now, when the project does not give him much more money.

I'm with you, Surge is already a new standard in open source synthesizers, and this would be the next step. I'm happy he has even considered it, but his decision makes a lot of sense.

Echoes in the Attic wrote: Thu Nov 26, 2020 3:26 pm I have to say, I wasn't looking for another wavetable synth, but this design is very impressive. Has pretty much everything you could ask for. The mod remap is especially great for MPE.

I'm sure this was already posted, but great vid on some key features here:
This is a great video, although he did miss out on one of Vital's key strengths (vs Serum anyway, which is very popular in the psytrance community) which is matrix slot modulation [depth and curve]. He's a friend though, so I'll make sure to give him some proper KVR feedback by telling him he's a clueless f*cking moron or some such, for missing it out

I wouldn't be so generous to him seeing as he has overlooked some key features...

Disregard your own faults and indiscretions because you are just funking perfect and give him a serious thrashing that reaches right through to his bones

I haven't followed the thread since posting - I've just downloaded vital again and Windows Defender didn't flag anything. Not sure what's changed but just wanted to give a heads up to anyone interested. Can finally test this thing out!

Matt must have uprated the signing to extended validation, enjoy!

Thanks. I fully understand Matt's decision. Let's see how well he can position himself on the commercial plugin market, I wish him all the best.

I'm surprised that no action is taken to be honest, all his posts are reported by someone [before me lol].

It's a public holiday in the US, so that's Hink out at least. I know I'd rather be enjoying family time than dealing with BS here
