Hi,
Just saw the ads for Soundscapes (requires Kontakt player), currently on the (intro?) price of 99 euros (50% off).
https://cinesamples.com/product/soundscapes
The teaser sounds very nice, getting all sorts of ambient washy sounds.
In their video ad here on KVR, they run an audio track of Beethoven's Moonlight sonata through the synth, and it turns into a string atmo thing.
https://www.kvraudio.com/video/turn-aud ... 418/1/4328
I wonder, could one do about the same thing with Pigments? Or with Portal?
I'm not fully understanding how one's own samples relate to the synth "interpreting" the sounds using other instruments, and what that has to do with granular synthesis. If anything, I'd bet it would have to do with spectral similarities.
In any case, it's an intriguing instrument.

Same question here
on top of that is there a difference with Cataliz
https://www.blinksonic.com/portfolio/cataliz/
Anyone has some experience with both of them?

Haven't had time to try it yet, but the gifts from GVST are superb (the ones I've tried at least).

I don't know if they are directly comparable (albeit both being granular synths), but Granulizer 2 is 80% off (16EUR) right now. I bought it, and for that price, it's amazing!

Wow, thanks a lot! Can't understand this hasn't been touted more at KVR. Truly sounds amazing, and the UI is superb as well. More higher value for the money, in my book (at least now). Now, where's those 16 bucks anyway...?Sinisterbr wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 3:14 pm I don't know if they are directly comparable (albeit both being granular synths), but Granulizer 2 is 80% off (16EUR) right now. Just watch the vids for both and you'll see how wildly different they are. Cataliz is an amazing instrument and is all about performance and modulation. It's totally bonkers and a joy to use.
and it's also only about half the price of soundscapes right now.

Exactly, thanks. KVR has always been like this: some brands/products get a lot of recognition, others' don't. Still: that only means there are lots of fantastic products out there, so one can hardly complain!Sinisterbr wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 7:28 pmYeah, but I think he meant this synths isn't widely know here (and I agree), as other granular synths. Maybe this changes now, the developers seem really active, they're constantly improving it.
