Ok a few gripes:
1) rack ears sold separately. Don't laugh, a lot of plugins have design features that aid in operation and help fasten plugins into rack rails (not everybody has infinite desk space) But I can live without them. I don't want to void the warrantee by attaching them by myself and risk some breach of license.
2) intelligent randomize button. I don't have a lot of time on my hands to audition presets so what I want is a button that can listen to the harmonic content of the master channel and intelligently use artificial intelligence algorithms to decide for me what instrument has room in the arrangement.
3) intelligent arpeggiator. It's nice that you can kind of sort of create an arpeggiation if you spend time on it in the MSEG, but what I really need is Vital to listen to the harmonic content of the master buss for the best pattern and interval to automatically load up. When the intervals aren't repetitive they start to sound like a professional musical composition and that is the sort of arpeggiator we need in the age of Deep Learning. This arpeggiator shouldn't sound like an arpeggiator though.
4) audio input. Sometimes regular oscillators aren't enough. I'd like to pipe in some audio program material through the heart of Vital, as if it is an oscillator itself, and use the robust FX section in order to affect the sound like they were DSP audio effects. This should enable true vocoding, and allow audio inputs (up to 99 channels) as sources in the modulation matrix page.
5) Total FX section revamp. (just kidding)

seems to me that really depends on how you measure success, I haven't made money with my music but I consider what music has brought me over the decades to be extremely successful...but I dont measure my success against the success of others, I measure it by my own personal growthSneakyBeats wrote: Sat Nov 28, 2020 12:43 pmWhat is even more fun, is that most often that 12yo kid with bandlab is more succesful than that 40yo with 100k studio.VELLTONE MUSIC wrote: Sat Nov 28, 2020 10:59 am This is joke, please don't react negative:):)

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Sounds exactly like something a 40 year old with $100k into their studio would sayHink wrote: Sun Nov 29, 2020 12:15 amseems to me that really depends on how you measure success, I haven't made money with my music but I consider what music has brought me over the decades to be extremely successful...but I dont measure my success against the success of others, I measure it by my own personal growthSneakyBeats wrote: Sat Nov 28, 2020 12:43 pmWhat is even more fun, is that most often that 12yo kid with bandlab is more succesful than that 40yo with 100k studio.VELLTONE MUSIC wrote: Sat Nov 28, 2020 10:59 am This is joke, please don't react negative:):)

Haha, I'm just making jokes. Very well said, I agree that success is such an incredibly subjective thing, and everybody has their own metrics for measuring it. I've certainly never made any money off any music I've made, but thank goodness that has never been a motive for me. I do it because I like it

Remembering the broken glass suicide of Avicii and thinking about how much money and success is important...
Better having less success and money but staying VITAL

I know it was a joke and Hink would no doubt be delighted to be referred to as 40 (I would) but i think you totally missed that emotion. Similar to Hink, after decades of loving music it always pays be back in spades for all my efforts and I could sell all my stuff without affecting that in the slightest.Jkist wrote: Sun Nov 29, 2020 2:27 amSounds exactly like something a 40 year old with $100k into their studio would sayHink wrote: Sun Nov 29, 2020 12:15 amseems to me that really depends on how you measure success, I haven't made money with my music but I consider what music has brought me over the decades to be extremely successful...but I dont measure my success against the success of others, I measure it by my own personal growthSneakyBeats wrote: Sat Nov 28, 2020 12:43 pmWhat is even more fun, is that most often that 12yo kid with bandlab is more succesful than that 40yo with 100k studio.VELLTONE MUSIC wrote: Sat Nov 28, 2020 10:59 am This is joke, please don't react negative:):)

On topic, my post from yesterday seems proved wrong. The subs deal doesn't give you access to the full fat Pro package according to comments on Vital forum, which is well worth a read.

Yep agree i didn't say anything about success, just kidding about how easy today everybody could make music and money without investing money and time(like before),because there is such great tools as bandlab cakewalk and Vital, don't get it,i'm 40+ non successful producer hihihi it's hilarious have to admit the irony of thisHink wrote: Sun Nov 29, 2020 12:15 amseems to me that really depends on how you measure success, I haven't made money with my music but I consider what music has brought me over the decades to be extremely successful...but I dont measure my success against the success of others, I measure it by my own personal growthSneakyBeats wrote: Sat Nov 28, 2020 12:43 pmWhat is even more fun, is that most often that 12yo kid with bandlab is more succesful than that 40yo with 100k studio.VELLTONE MUSIC wrote: Sat Nov 28, 2020 10:59 am This is joke, please don't react negative:):)

Next club or festival I go to, this is what I will be yelling.Trancit wrote: Sat Nov 28, 2020 9:08 pm But it´s true... I still remember the masses yelling in the clubs and festivals: "Great track but the filters are not so good!!!"![]()
Surely there must be consensus by now...

Is it possible to edit harmonics or waveform(draw) of imported wavetable(in .wav format).Looks like wavetables made from scratch within Vital are only editable that way.Import wav -> FFT -> edit harmonics,is nice to have.

You could use the module into the wt editor:kone2006 wrote: Sun Nov 29, 2020 5:58 am Is it possible to edit harmonics or waveform(draw) of imported wavetable(in .wav format).Looks like wavetables made from scratch within Vital are only editable that way.Import wav -> FFT -> edit harmonics,is nice to have.
Filter, phase....but you can't draw your harmonics on a import wavetable in wav format.

It was supposed to be more on the joke side, even though I've noticed that these days kids with laptop and more or less legal nexus.. They get (commercial) success more easily than someone like for example me..Hink wrote: Sun Nov 29, 2020 12:15 amseems to me that really depends on how you measure success, I haven't made money with my music but I consider what music has brought me over the decades to be extremely successful...but I dont measure my success against the success of others, I measure it by my own personal growthSneakyBeats wrote: Sat Nov 28, 2020 12:43 pmWhat is even more fun, is that most often that 12yo kid with bandlab is more succesful than that 40yo with 100k studio.VELLTONE MUSIC wrote: Sat Nov 28, 2020 10:59 am This is joke, please don't react negative:):)

But true.. Can a bunch of tracks, created with premade stuff, just slammed together and forgot after the initial hype, to be called success? Those old farts with 100k studios still have the tracks that have been played again and again for decades.

Oh I am sure with Vital also great tracks can be produced too.Trancit wrote: Sat Nov 28, 2020 9:08 pmWow, that´s a big compliment though regarding the hundred thousands of great tracks produced with Massive over the years!!SamDi wrote: Sat Nov 28, 2020 10:51 am ...

The masses, yelling in the clubs and festivals, don‘t give a shit on which synth or effect a track consists of.
These strange discussions are just for us nerds

Just updated the template and free pack NKS patches to include additional controls for the comb and formant filtersaMUSEd wrote: Sat Nov 28, 2020 8:11 pmWith the kind collaboration of a fellow member of the NI Forum ('Vagus') we now have .nksf files, with previews, for the free patches as wellaMUSEd wrote: Sat Nov 28, 2020 4:45 pmLeaving aside the few bugs in KK I have managed to make a preliminary NKS/Komplete Kontrol template for Vital Audio Vital - but for now I've left off the controls that don't seem to play well with the KK interfaceaMUSEd wrote: Sat Nov 28, 2020 1:18 pm Seems to be bug in Komplete Kontrol - when I try and assign change of filter type to a knob the filter type does change (ie I can hear the change) but the dropdown menu doesn't.
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/knktbyejyk2f ... wyYUa?dl=0
The template includes all image and database files needed for NKS integration and a controller template to get people started on saving out their own presets for this (sorry I'm not going to make nksf versions of all the presets as I have the Plus version but have no idea which ones are just for free so don't want to accidentally release the wrong ones - besides this is all about having enough hands-on control for performance, and making your own presets).
Had to make some pragmatic decisions about the optimal layout for controls so this is a WIP - I didn't map everything as it would take up too many user pages (ie too much menu diving), as always there's a tradeoff between usability and comprehensiveness. So please let me know if you have better ideas.
