@trewq re: ChordwarePA 2021
Hi Steve, I watched a few minutes but shaky camera was a bit disconcerting. Maybe use a screen recorder instead. I didn't understand what you were doing without explanation. Youtube text says 2921 for release year. Will this be free of paid update?

Hi Jim, if you've paid for any past version, yes, I'll send you a serial no. I haven't applied a license or decided on price yet, but need support to make better videos - that was an Intel i5.

Thanks Steve. I don't think I paid for a license as I recall. Just did some testing, etc. I think.

A quick question for the esteemed group here. Do any of the programs discussed in the previous 62 pages affect MIDI in real time? For example, I was just looking at the Spitfire Audio video for Olafur Arnalds' Stratus, which takes individual notes of a chord and performs algorithmic transformations to some of the notes (delays, repeats, harmonization, etc.). In the Spitfire Audio product, however, this is done with the included samples - I don't believe that you can export the MIDI data.
Is there a similar MIDI FX device that would perform transformations on chords played live? Perhaps Phrasebox does this, but if I am missing any others, please let me know.
Thanks in advance!
Edit - thinking I can probably create something similar with a series of pizmidi devices, too.

If you don't mind, let me know if you figure something out. Stratus was the reason I found this thread! I think it's some Kontakt scripting under the covers and I read it was some Euclidian pattern algorithm.bharris22 wrote: Sun Dec 27, 2020 2:54 pm A quick question for the esteemed group here. If you enable midi to outside world in Kontakt and your DAW can handle it, does that not work?
The only other plugin/library I thought of regarding your question was Riffer 3.0 and Session Strings Pro 2.

I don't have Stratus - little pricey for my use - just thought it would fun to try to mimic what it's doing. I have Riffer and need to dig into that more as well as Komplete 12 Ultimate so can see what Session Strings might offer. Just got Reason 11 Suite and HATEFISh RhyGenerator recently and need to see what those might offer too.

I think that the spirit of Stratus should be able to be replicated with existing midi tools (I don't think that running midi out of Kontakt will do the trick, as I believe that the generated phrases are sampled as complete phrases in Stratus).
Between pizmidi VSTs, lua scripts running in OSAR protoplug, and various other midi tools available in M4L and Reason, it has got to be doable. All I need is time

Aye, there's the rub!
I hope to have some time over New Year's weekend, but we'll see! I have Live Suite too, so looking at existing M4L devices too. I'm on a Mac, so I think pizmidi is out for me to look at, but that looks pretty interesting. OSAR protoplug is intriguing as well! I've seen some Logic MIDI FX scripts that do some things too, but haven't seen this type of thing.

Not familiar with Stratus, but if you have Live Suite did you download the probability pack?
https://www.ableton.com/en/packs/probability-pack/
you can have an arp which has different levels of chance to play notes etc.

Cracklefield looks very cool - have had szcz's site bookmarked for a while. But a little rich right now at $65 after all the holiday sales.
