Are there any real good VST flanger FX plugins?

I'll probably just have to pick up a vintage MXR flanger, which is the one that Giorgio Moroder used on "The Chase" from Midnight Express. I still haven't found a VST flanger that can touch that intense flanger sound.......which is strange now that VST FX can compete very well with hardware.

Btw.: one great and very versatile Flanger that has not been mentioned at all yet (I think) is Valhalla's Space Modulator - and it's even free:

maybe if you tried actually describing what's wrong with the ones you've tried vs the korg, then people here could make a better recommendation. Just saying something was gud vs not gud isn't at all helpful. Otherwise, you're just going to get a list of every relevant VST in existence.

This is still my favourite. And, yeah, I believe it is part of their general modulation plugin now: https://www.audiodamage.com/products/ad040-quatromod
Right. It also has the advantage of coming with my personal favorite Chorus plugin.

You are correct. All I can achieve is a more tamed and subtle flange with VST flangers. Both my Trident and the MXR can do a very strong, thick, and “alive” sounding flange. I apologize for a lack of a better description and technical explanation, but that’s all that comes to mind right now. I’m very happy with reverb, delay, and other VST FX, but for now though, I guess I’ll need to go with hardware if I want to achieve the type of flange sound that I am looking for now. I’m glad I started this topic though because I did learn about some flange VST’s that I wasn’t aware of...which indeed may work for other projects. :)

Which one? There are at least two.

There is the big rack Flanger/Doubler which comes up in auctions sometimes, but usually pretty expensive

I suspect that someone like Moroder had that rather than the guitar stomp box. That is available as a re-issue.

I have that one. I tend to use it on manual. It's only mono though.

As I said in my previous reply, the one I prefer to use is the Eventide Instant Flanger II.

I tend to prefer flanger without much of that metallic whooshing, I prefer something more subtle.

Arturia modeled the rack one, don't know how good it is.

why do ya want an eff'n flanger for?

I find the Kuassa Efektor FL3606 Flanger sounds way better than the Roland SBF-325 Stereo Flanger rack mount unit I had bought new back in the day. The Roland was much too subtle for my tastes and the Kuassa gives the exact sound I was seeking all those years ago!

D16 flanger is very nice.

Antresol and the Eventide Flanger are pretty much all I need. I still haven't found anything that quite matches the sound of my old BF-2 flanger pedal though.

I wonder how the flanger in Full Bucket's Tricent sounds compared to a real Korg?

...and whether or not he can be talked into spinning it out into its own plugin?
the old free version may not work boots successfully on new generations of computers, instruments, and hardware

You really didn’t like the Arturia BL-20, eh?
