Does Tone 2 use JUCE ? Or do you suggest Markus start using it just to get maybe a 2% increase in market share and a 50% increase in support work?

Doesn't sound like a fair trade to me.

Anyway Markus has already said:

People have reported that our other plugins seem to run quite well on linux with wine.
So this discussion is pointless. Let's try to get back to discussing Warlock. :wink:

If you use Linux you're probably not going to get to use some or even most of the cool Windows stuff. That's a tradeoff you choose when you decide to use Linux. Talking about Linux here has no real point until Linux users can get way more people to switch. Warlock in Linux probably isn't going to happen, but that's the path you chose when you chose Linux. Nothing wrong with using Linux, and also nothing wrong with choosing not to support Linux because the small install base. It is what it is.

I was speaking generically from the beginning.

1) Plugin devs who make their Windows version with JUCE get the (Mac and) Linux versions at no additional dev cost;
2) The demo/freemium versions filter out incompatible systems, at the cost of some server use;
3) Linux users — [looks in purchased $59 Linux REAPER tarball:"--- This is an unsupported, experimental version ---"] — don't actually have to get any support.

Looks like a win to me, but Windows to everyone else, so yeah, I'm done too.

Would be really great if we could get on topic again. The topic is Tone2 Warlock synth, not Linux.

Can’t wait for the mac version :)

It was done on Firebird + before it became freeware.

How those sounds hold up 14 years later to the day I can't say but you're free to use them if you wish. Would be interesting to see how they translate to Warlock. Whether they're "really good" or not now is up to you.

I remember Xenos and I did a collaboration bank as well. If he still has it you're free to use that as well again if you wish and he doesn't mind.
Thanks a lot for your bank! You did great work and it did pass the quality-check. You will be able to find your sounds in 'FireBird C'.

Great ! I'm glad you like the patches and they still stand up all these years later. :tu:

Missing in Warlock:

- Copy/Paste and Renaming of Presets within the VSTi
- Moving the entries in the smal square-windows with mousewheel
- Loading up to 10 custom banks

Beside this there are pops/clicks and artefacts when random-jumping a voc oscilator.
I have attached an example.

Oh, I think I was the only one who found the pop/clicks ! Thanks for bringing this "issue" to the forum.

Copy & Paste patches:
Is possible. But would require a renaming of the FILE menu to PRESETS. This would require that all screenshot and images that I have finished for the website and the handbook would need to be redone.

Rename patches:
Will not be implemented. There are too many hosts where it doesn't work properly (key presses are not forwarded to the plugin / focus problems with windows). Since people are very picky about small issues only features that work properly in all hosts are included.
You can rename your patches why renaming the .fxp files with Windows. Warlock will then pick up the new name when you load them.

Loading custom banks:
I included this feature now. It will be possible to auto-load up to 3 custom banks.

pops/clicks and artefacts when random-jumping a voc oscilator:
I will check out if this can be avoided somehow. Please note that randomly changing the waveform of any conventional oscillator does create clicks.
For smooth transitions use these morphmodes instead of "?????": "?+-+-+-" or "?"

Update: I was able to find a solution for the 'pops & clicks' problem that can appear with certain combinations of the morphmodes. It will be included to the next update.
