Have to agree, the promised features are great. I like the comping, especially that it does MIDI as well as audio, that's great. Tempo follow doesn't work at all on the latest beta, just broken. MPE is funky compared to other DAWs I use with MPE, it's got a lot of control over it, it's just not as fluid. CPU monitoring is cool, they should have looked at how DP10 does it though, it seems more like how Reaper does it, with generalized meh meters.antic604 wrote: Mon Feb 22, 2021 8:52 am It's fascinating how differently people are seeing the upgrade! For me, 11 - like 10.1 before it with VST3 support, automation shapes, sidechain freezing, inclusion of returns in stems - seems to be very focused on "core DAW improvements". MPE, comping, track linking, CPU monitoring, tempo follow, macro snapshots, key & scale snap, etc. are all very much related to workflow, either for production or live performance. All the new & refreshed devices and sound-packs are just cherry on a cake, that make it even more compelling.
Obviously, there are users for whom those features mean nothing, but it's hard to not conclude they're simply using the wrong DAW![]()
I'm debating it, I haven't been able to enjoy Live since getting into Bitwig and other DAWs with decent keyboard shortcuts to be honest. It just feels like mud navigating it's interface, but the feature set is impressive especially when it's updated in the future to fix things like the tempo follow. I'm going to consult my friend whom I write music with sometime who uses it exclusively, if he's not updating yet I'll wait.
