I dont yet own one, but Im wondering if the Mc 101/707 will get the new modal expansions which would push me in that direction.

Model and Wave expansions are not supported on the 101 or 707.

That's possible but it might be because the HW can't support it. It would be a nice surprise but I'm skeptical.
