Hi
I understand Liam used just one piece of equipment for the first prodigy album...a roland W30..but there's one sound that makes me go "HUH???" it's this noise you can find here at 0:33
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKmhlA2S2KU
What exactly is this sound supposed to be anyway?? I can't even fathom it!! But one thing is for sure, it became the signature sound for lots of 90s rave music to come..but what IS it? it sounds like something played very high up the octaves

Usually people sampled stuff like strings, choirs, brass, or synths playing chords and cut out the starting transient. So when listened to outside of its original context like that, it sounds like a completely different instrument.

I'm not looking for the vocals...it's that lead synth stab sound at 0:33!! You can hear it in other prodigy records and also many, many 90s rave tracks in various forms..
the most I can think of is a Juno hoover!! Maybe it's been really pitched up and chopped up, but somehow I'm not sure..
Thanks

Liam usually just played chords with simple waveforms.
This is also just a basic saw:

I can think of a multitude of reasons they might not've been on here and may come back but all this does is deviate away from the thread topic so I won't list 'em lol!CHOOS wrote: ↑Wed Feb 24, 2021 9:36 pmHow many forums have you posted on 8 years ago. haven't been on that site for 6 and still responded to a post?Eclectrophonic wrote:So he's closed his account? if not they could respond.

I went on a forum a few weeks back I hadn't been on in 2 years or more. I completely forgot about that particular forum but anyway, let's move on.
