Gibson isn't owned by Gibson it's owned by an equity firm.

Until they bring back the ES-330 I have to answer that question with a big YES.

For some reason this feels like the Windows Phone .... Like it's a little too late . I love all kinds of music including Megadeth late 80s early 90s https://youtu.be/hfpveFuzFbU but this just feels a tad late . I still rather get a Mexican mad Charvel super strat with a HSS then fool with Gibson or Fender .

I wonder how much Mustaine is making on the deal.

Schon had a limited run Gibson LP that cost stupid money. The ink wasn't even dry before he went back to PRS to do a signature model with them.

I had an old Epiphone Casino back in the day...

The Kalamazoo variety...

There was nothing wrong with that guitar
No auto tune...

To be fair, the 2019 epi Joe pass is okay. Not great but plays well and looks nice. The tone is another matter. Too much wood not bright enough.

Not sure if I would ever buy a guitar with the name of someone else's wife on it though. :?

And the year it was made. And sometimes you just get lucky. I had a '68 SG that was
absolutely the shizz. Beat to hell but played like a dream. Not too long ago I bought
a Gibson 70's tribute SG brand new, CHEAP as chips, and unseen or played from a mail order dealer. It was the BOMB!! It's pretty much my #1 now. I've also got a recent Hagstrom FP-200 that is, likewise, an excellent guitar.....I paid even less for that one.

Now that being said, around the same time, I walked into a brick & mortar guitar store.
Major Gibson dealer, probably several hundred hanging on the wall. I played a boat load
of 'em and not one was worth the asking price IMHO. It's a known fact that sometimes,
Gibson has been in the habit of sending their worst to retail shops because they know
that salesman can pressure the young and/or foolish to pay extra for the name on the headstock.

Fender also plays this game.

I'm sorry, I have yet to see a reasonably priced Gibson new...in fact I remember being in a mall in Dallas, probably 1980, I was just promoted and was making good money in the service...well, enough that that day which was payday I had enough to actually buy a new Les Paul...I didnt, a while later further south in Temple TX however I did buy a 72 7ender tele custom black, just like Keith's...for 2 hundred and something...bought it at Ray Hennigs Heart of Texas :tu:

that's probably the Austin store
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

I hear ya'. But there are rare exceptions to every general rule. I bought my '68 SG in the late 90's for $250. I was forced to sell it a few years later for $450. That same guitar might bring $3K now,

An old dog like yourself should know this You said it yourself:

Of course, if you wanted a new Fender you could always pickup on of these at Sweetwaterfor a paltry sum.

They do still suck. The quality control is just plain bad

I always wanted a Jackson as Mustaine was using them and I'm a Megadeth fan. When I finally got myself one he signs with Gibson. The Jackson guitar was pretty good though
