These days, I'm happy to listen to just about anything.
Anyway, sounds fine to me. I don't hear any "drop in quality" next to the usual stuff you post. Mix is still excellent. Musically interesting enough. If you hadn't said anything, I'd say it was a typical Layzer tune.
So I give it a thumbs up.

hello, and thanks for taking the time, i've always been a
sucker for a good mystery, so i can indeed hear this as an intro
on unsolved mysteries

That side chained pump effect is so overdone I just couldn't listen past 20 seconds!
BUT SERIOUSLY...
Good stuff...yeah, I get the futuristic mystery thing as well...I think it's the rippling D E F D E F // G A Bb G A Bb melody line that does it!
Well mixed as always...if you ever do use a ######### side chain pumpin' effect I'll never listen to ya stuff again!
Plenty of good ideas in there, but maybe the overall flow stuttered a little bit from time to time?

i would have expected you to detect the less
than graceful flow of it, but i guess you were not
feeling too knit picky. and i did mention its not my best.
could have been much worse had the mix not
been decent.

you hit the nail on the head on the flow, which is
why i feel its "not my best" although i was very happy with
other ideas as you mentioned, the drums in particular....
there was a transitional key change where it felt stuttered
like it was missing a bridge and i did try to smooth out the transition with some drum fills but it was not enough. imo
and yeah, the dreaded side-chain compression!
you know, back in the day, the first thing i did when i bought a new
depeche mode cassette was leave it on the dash in my car in the hot sun
to get that cool volume fading in and out effect.
NOT. i do despise the unnatural mutilated effect it has on
otherwise perfectly good produced music. kinda like how big fake boobs
dont look natural.

Feels epic. Could see this playing in a scifi space scene. Like the changeups.

"There can be only one".
(Highlander if you didn't know)
Very nice intro, some good retro sounds. Mix very good.
Well done sir.

The intro sounds like late Christmas music, haha. But then it slowly
develops ... more dynamically. Maybe the kick is a little loud? The
repetitive elements make the song concise. A nice instrumental.

There are some appealing melodic motifs here. This could work very well as TV theme for a sci-fi or mystery show.
As noted previously, there are some transitions where it felt like it was running out of steam. This could be resolved by editing it down to a shorter piece focusing on the core elements.
The mix was very good. Nice work.

christmas is right around the corner, yo!
i thought about adding sleigh bells but went with the bongos
instead
kick volume is always a personal preference, but if its
only a little loud to ya, i wont sweat it.
thanks for giving it a spin and taking the time
