Greetings KVR!

Given that I joined this forum in 2005 and haven't gotten around to posting any music yet, I figured it was probably time to do something about that, by sharing something I've made on the Arturia Polybrute.

This keyboard is a joy to use, and for me it's the expression controls that take it from a just being a great synth, and lift it up to being an instrument that you can play like you might do with an acoustic instrument.

Come to think of it, I'm not sure if this qualifies as "music". I'd consider it more an exploration of sound.

Anyway, if you can sit still for 7 minutes, feel free to join me on an exploration of a patch I created, called "Unsettled":

Interesting soundscape...rich sound from that synth...takes me back to the mid 80s when I had the privilege of a borrowed CS80 for a full 6 months - total beast that one...especially the weight! :)

If I ever do get another hardware synth, something along these lines would be near the top of the list just for all the editing facilities onboard...Aftertouch...Ribbon controllers... Morphée 3D controller.

that's some lovely sounds :tu:

not a huge user of polys, maybe the odd pad here n there, so ive always just used va's. i think this is the first analogue poly ive heard that's made me rethink that :hihi:
i think it not only sounds great but as mark says, those extra little control bits, makes a huge difference in comparison with other synths.

Thanks for your comments, Mark and Vurt!

That recording is straight out of the Polysynth. Only post-processing was normalising the track in Reaper, so everything you hear, including FX is from the synth. It's definitely not up to a CS-80, but for the price it's pretty amazing. :)

I enjoyed it a lot. I liked how you took the time with the sound, not rushing it. And of course I envy you the PolyBrute! I want one too! :D I played the MatrixBrute at NAMM one year and was gobsmacked to find out how good it was. For now I will have to do with my MiniBrute. :hihi:
