I submitted two short demos (they asked for them to be 30-60 secs) to Tone2 for their new Warlock synth. The main drum part for both was done with Addictive Drums, but everything else is Warlock.

Nice sounding synth as ever from Tone 2...always preferred their stuff to the more high profile U-he.

Both the tracks fit the bill for demos - good job...plenty of different sound types(leads, pads, basses, arps etc) covered and instantly hooky / catchy.

I think the first track has a potential little issue in the 2nd half...sort of runs out of steam and doesn't quite highlight any particular sound very clearly maybe?

When the 2nd track returns to the main theme at the end, I would've considered adding one extra layer / sound to highlight something new...arp, FX?

Just depends what others submit as well....what sounds / styles Tone2 need highlighting...always a bit random with demos.

Best of luck!

Thanks for the comments! They used the first one for the last part of their Ambient/Cinematic demo track.

Rank heresy ! :)

To the OP: Great demos, I'd probably buy the synth if they made a Linux version. Convincing tracks, well-made.

Best regards,

Truth is... Don't use synths from either anymore at all... Had a much needed clear out of my VSTs in 2020...

Just NI Komplete + Omnisphere + Synthmaster now... Yeah, I know... Poor me! 😭

MY BIG issue with u-he (and they do some seriously good stuff) was always CPU usage (lazy programming frankly) and to a lesser extent... Excessive use of FX on a lot of the presets. Quite liked Tone2's output for a while and then decided that they didn't quite fit my sonic palette ( such a twotty phrase)! 😭

Listened again... Yeah, they are good demos... Still slightly prefer the 2nd one, but it's always down to the company and what they need / want!
