To all those who are against custom themes.
Oh, of course, the "strobe-light style" theme is the best solution. Especially at night!!! LOL

Also, many people know about burnout of amoled displays in bright areas.
The designer's job is not only to make it look nice, but also to consider a lot of other factors of interaction with the GUI.

I don't get what you're trying to show in that video or why you're in the dark.

Anyways, I'm not against themes I just don't give a **** about them. A theme has never aided me in creating music nor helped me solve any problem within my music but as long as stuff related to getting music done comes along with it and it doesn't get in my way it's whatever. I of course prefer to see other things happen first, naturally.

If it's a matter of some kind of legit eye sight/strain problem then I guess I understand why some people may need other options but then again you'd only have yourself to blame if you purchased the software. There is a demo after all.

If you were a software developer, your reasoning would be different. How many people will NOT buy a program if they were uncomfortable with it.

The connection of the program UI and electronic music is direct. Almost 100% of the time you are looking at the monitor.

He's trying to show the problem that's most often mentioned when discussin theming, i.e. the fact that background of the Arranger or Detail Editor is bright and its brightness can't be controlled, so - especially if you're working in the dark - switching between a dark plugin and bright Arranger can feel like being blinded by a flashlight.

It never bothered me, because I don't ever work in pitch black and my laptop's screen adjusts for night (warmer colours) and is dimmed, so the contrast isn't as drastic. But I can understand it can be an issue for more sensitive persons.

I don't care for themes, but that's one thing that should be adjustable.

Im all in for color themes. Sometimes the environment you work in requires a dark theme.. sometimes a bright theme. Or do we only work at home here?

Add tools to create/edit themes, please. Or at least the ability to have a darker MIDI and arrangement background. PLEASE!

If you activate it during the day, it's amazing how much red it generates in the image, yet the same settings at night after they have faded in seem perfectly natural and comfortable

Apparently, it came in via the Windows 10 Creators Update which I believe was in 2017. While in Linux, Redshift is available in some distros but doesn't really offer any configuration. F.lux inspired all the other solutions and has been around since 2009. FWIW

Theming is overrated and I'd rather they spend their time working on other things.

Yeah, but a little more CONTRAST eg. for beat-grids, what is selected, is loop on.... all stuff for faster "reading" the GUI would be nice! There are much more steps of "grey" instead just 3,4 tones of near half-bright grey and half-dark grey....

I just want a good dark theme as well, I dig the theme as is right now - it is well balanced for me. Always feels refreshing after coming back from Cubase and Ableton, but yeah a nice pimping dark theme is in order!
