Maybe I'll buy a Benton Fusion T and a Donner DJC-1000S

The Donner thinline sounds nothing like a Fender Deluxe Thinline.

I was always recommending second hand Yamaha Pacifica guitars for beginners. I got the impression they are a bit more consistent when it comes to playability and build quality compared to some other brands. I never seen or played one that had some kind of serious flaw and people shopping for these kind of instruments often don't have someone to help them check if guitar is OK, so Yamaha's were always kind of a safe bet.

I have not tried many of those, but yes, that's how I feel about Pacificas. Good guitars overall, nothing crazy, but it also won't surprise with any inconsistencies.

I received a Harley Benton st-62 from Thomann a week or two ago. Great guitar, but needed some setup for sure. It was absolutely playable right out of the box, but the action was a bit high, and the frets quite rough. I set it up, but didn't Polish the frets yet - im waiting for new pickups (should be here in Monday). Again - the ones in the guitar are ok, and I don't really feel a NEED to change them. I just want to see other options, as I don't have much experience with single coils.
This was my first Strat after playing for 15+ years, and I'm absolutely in love with this type of guitar. Strats are definitely my thing. Oh, the tones... I also got Mooer Preamp Live lately, so I can't stop playing whenever I have time (that's not often at all lately). The I only Strat thing that bothers me is the volume pickup placement. Horrible idea to put a knob so close to the strings. That's a quick fix though, so I removed it on day 2. Also, I changed the saddles in the bridge. The vintage style ones had height screws sticking out right into my hand when I was muting the strings.
Honestly, I like the Strat so much, I might sell my other HB and get another one of these in different color and put some PAFs in it... We'll see.

Yamaha is a good bet, would have to be used for under £100.
