ah cool, it's certainly nostalgic for that era. I don't know what B-movie is though :O
edit: ok I looked it up on Youtube. How have I not heard of this band?

Unfortunately they were not too well known. Nowhere Girl is a favourite of mine.

Another not well known but good band were the Wild Swans

thanks for the info. Songs we loved years ago often don't hold up to the test of time but that B-Movie song is still great

Hey Jbravo,
Im sorry this is completely out of subject, i know, but ive tried to contact you via forum profile but couldnt find a direct contact there... I stumbled in this post searching google for synthpop music prodution
I heard your song and its really great, thats the style I love! and Ive been searching for some forum/reddit/subforum for synthpop producers but, until now, couldnt find any.
Ive been trying to learn how to produce this style of music and be part of a community that discusses that type of work and exchange tips/hints on how to improve, etc.
I have experience on music composition but almost none in mastering/mixing/producing with computers, already published some work in soundcloud, but i feel i need to improve a lot.
Again, sorry for diverting the subject here, any help would be great!

Hi Sambombe, thanks for your message, I'll reply directly
the album came out last weekend which you can hear here if you're interested:

It should be on bandcamp to buy and download when I get around to it

Interesting new wave vibe...nicely arranged & mixed....but I noticed something odd about the vocals & surmised that autotune was a possibility(then confirmed when you replied to someone on this thread about using the vocal effect.) Not a fan of autotune(though not that there is anything wrong with it,unless of course you do live gigs without any vocal practice beforehand.) I derive a lot of satisfaction in my own personal sense of achievement,by doing it the old-fashioned way,by honing my vocal prowess before I lay down anything in my DAW. I'll admit though, vocals can be very time-consuming & a pain in the ass....which is why I mostly do instrumental tunes.

Hey thanks glad you like it. In my case it's unfortunately absolutely necessary to use autotune and I was prepared to use every trick in the book to create something which was acceptable to my ear, however unnatural I would love to be a great singer. I might work on it or stick to writing songs that are better suited to my voice. Having said that back in the day many big artists were pretty ropey singers (New Order anyone?) and I wouldn't be interested in sounding like the super slick and commercial pop singers of today

Thank you for the answer. Regarding the use of processing on vocals, I have a similar problem. My voice doesn't have much power or stability and I think I'm a little bit old to improve it now lol. However, in styles like synthpop or music with a lot of digital elements, the vocoder or autotune suits very well. And congrats on the finished work, fantastic!
