Here is a favorite of mine. A Ibanez Blazer with stock brass tremolo.
The pickups are Seymour Duncan's Strabro90. They are a lot of like P90s with magnet on the bottom and a high wind, but they are tappable and have wide slugs. They also have screws under 3 strings and slugs under the other 3.

Looks great, but don’t you get any control over tone? Can only see two pots, both labelled volume.

They are 2 push/pull pots and a 3-way switch for splitting the pickups and various out-of-phase tricks.WatchTheGuitar wrote: ↑Sun Jan 17, 2021 8:17 pm Looks great, but don’t you get any control over tone? Can only see two pots, both labelled volume.
Good catch on the volume, one of them is tone. I dunno how the wrong label ended up there.

Oh that's fine then, would be really odd otherwise.uOpt wrote: ↑Sun Jan 17, 2021 11:11 pmThey are 2 push/pull pots and a 3-way switch for splitting the pickups and various out-of-phase tricks.WatchTheGuitar wrote: ↑Sun Jan 17, 2021 8:17 pm Looks great, but don’t you get any control over tone? The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Another pickup favorite. A 1990 Burny LPC with Seymour Duncan't "Phat Staple" pickups. The pickups are like the P90 variant in some ancient LPCs in the neck, but in humbucker format.

Picked up a few things recently:
The Peavey T-15 was in a job lot of assorted junk. It's had a hard life and some nincompoop has taken a file to the area behind the nut. There's actually a hole there so I wonder whether I want to take on another project like this. The electronics have been modded too with an extra volume pot added and a neck HB added. This turned out to be a Matsumoku MMK75 as used on some of the old Westones and MIJ Epiphones (they seem to be listed at stupid prices on Reverb). As for the way the body was routed to fit the pickup... Let me know if you want to see more pics of the guts of this thing
Found a fairly rare MIK Squier HM4 in pretty good nick (although the fretboard is pretty filthy). The photos don't do the finish justice, it's a nice sparkly one. It reminds me of my mate's old Ibby Sabre - skinny and light. The pups are nowt special so I might have a tinker.
Finally (for now) a Squier VM Jag with a couple of nice mods. There's a Staytrem bridge and pukka Fender torty guard and pup covers. The pups are the Duncan Designed originals which seem to have a decent reputation while not being exactly vintage accurate. I only picked this thing up today so I haven't actually plugged it in yet. Oh yes, it's blimmin' heavy. I haven't weighed it bit I think it'll give my LP a run for its money.

Is it something to do with a ceased/snapped truss rod? It appears to be missing its truss rod cover.resynthesis wrote: ↑Wed Jun 16, 2021 9:38 pm Picked up a few things recently:

I think the truss rod is intact (if quite rusty where visible). I think somebody has reshaped the neck / headstock join and has gone through to the truss rod cavity. If you look closely you can also see there is no wood below the middle part of the nut where more has been chipped away. Maybe all the woodwork was in an effort to access the truss rod but who can say!?

Wow I think this is the most beautiful guitar I've ever seen: Odonkey tugger wrote: ↑Fri Nov 13, 2020 2:41 pm One tends not to eulogise too much about these things - tools for songwriting, not art objects....but this is the f**king Bass VI in Fiesta Red for f**ks sake.

I've always played bass properly (plectrum, chords.. ) not like some nodding pigeon, so it was inevitable at some point I'd get a bass VI. It's a Revelation RJT60B apparently. Plays like a dream, either as a bass or as a loooowwwww baritone geetar. Great for writing on - suspended chords with drones high up..
It's not pink.

Wondered about getting a cheap semi so first thought of an Epiphone Dot. Mate in a band used to have one and it seemed great value. Used to be able to pick them up for around £200, but no-one seems to stock them anymore. Anyone recommend similar, the cheaper end Casinos seem to cost double that?

Ouch, I'd hate to see the other guy. I'm sure he had it coming though
