Recommend a cheap but good Drum vst

I have Djinn drum which is a really good Linn emulation.
I have another an 808 emulation, which was free and is also pretty good.
I also have the drumkits that come with the M1 vst.
What I'd like is something electronic but not dancey dancey (like the 808, don't really need another). Not really looking for a perfect real drum kit emulation either.
Must be affordable. Around £30 or so (license transfers can be included).
I don't really know drum synths.

There are so many drum samples online and in plentiful supply for cheap or free. What exactly is it that you expect from a drum plugin that your DAW doesn't already provide?

What do people think of the beatskillz stuff? Synthwave Drums and Retro Hit are massively on sale right now and seem half decent variety of sounds.

Definitely worth a try for $9 (no-brainer price). It would be nice to have every drums consolidated into one plugin.ghostwhistler wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 7:35 pm What do people think of the beatskillz stuff? Sitala is a free drum plugin and standalone app, use it with free real drum machine samples

https://sampleson.com/SUB-free-analog-drums.htmlSUB is a vintage analog drums module recreating many classic drum sounds and a Sub-frequency oscillator for extra fun!

All of those super simple drum plugins like beatskillz are really just containers for samples so it's like buying a sample library of vintage drum machine samples for $9. If they're the sounds that you want then it's probably worth the time savings. Otherwise, Sitala plus all of the free downloads that you have time to find is probably the better bet.The Noodlist wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 7:43 pmDefinitely worth a try for $9 (no-brainer price). What you get with the beatskillz style plugins is an easy way to audition kits that someone else has put together.

If you want a drum plugin for electronic music and want to create your own sounds plus use velocity and automation to control your sounds (every parameter is automatable as far as I have found) then I can definitely recommend Drumatic4 from E-Phonic. Has many great built in kits to start you off. Does the Roland machines really well but added flexibility with one OSC and two noise sections, FM etc. to create new sounds. Love it!! Euro 29.99+VAT

They're not the most versatile. It would be best to get their new one, Sequel, for $49 that loads user samples. Or better yet, you could buy Synthwave or Retro Hit for $9 and crossgrade to Sequel for $39. You'd save a buck, have 2 drum machines, and could build a library of 3rd party samples you like.ghostwhistler wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 7:35 pm What do people think of the beatskillz stuff? But if you don't need a drum sequencer, the free Sitala does as much as Synthwave or Retro Hit. Just add samples!

I bought the Sythwave and Retrohit plugins. Dirt cheap. Wouldn' tpay more for them, they are over processed sounds and not at all subtle. But that's what I wanted
Also the plugins aren't very stable, but they are quite flexible.
I have sitala, I also have the CMI V, I just wanted the convenience of not having to build my own drum kits from the thousands of samples that exist. Convenience really.
Thanks for the replies

If you buy the Beatskillz drum plugins, you can actually choose to download just the samples.ghettosynth wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 8:21 pmAll of those super simple drum plugins like beatskillz are really just containers for samples so it's like buying a sample library of vintage drum machine samples for $9.
