Stop it! You make me want to get Push2 again!SLiC wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 6:14 amThere are lots of other great DAWS all with their own pros and cons, but nothing in my experience even comes close to Live with PUSH2 as a unified workflow. It’s a good enough reason for me to keep using Live, it’s a different experience and I like it.
Live 11 was a massive update for PUSH as well

Why you left Ableton?

You know it makes sense I picked mine up for £470 new from BAX....its a thing of beauty, has an OP-1 display feel, just lovely to use.antic604 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 7:08 amStop it! This may help

Visualizations for new devices
See visualizations of key parameters in Hybrid Reverb, Spectral Resonator and Spectral Time on Push’s color display and control them directly from the hardware.
Key and Scale sync
The Key and Scale feature in Live 11 is linked to Push and can be changed per clip.
Polyphonic aftertouch support
Apply different levels of aftertouch to individual notes when using Wavetable, Sampler, Arpeggiator and supported VSTs for more nuanced and dynamic performances on Push.
See up to 16 Macros
In Live 11, access Macros 9-16 from a second page after the Rack page with Macros 1-8. The second page appears automatically once you map more than eight Macros.
It works with Bitwig as well, just not as well in some cases (some may argue better in others!) and definitely not as pretty Using PUSH is the only time the Live browser makes more sense and than Bitwigs pop-up, but it still works and you can do just about everything including the scales feature.

Yeah, I know. I had one, but sold it along with Live v10 Suite when I was "sure" I'm not ever going to be using Live. Then v11 came...
I never had more fun with 3 clips than on the day I bought Push2:

Nice Jam...that pretty much sums it up. I sold my OT and bought P2, no regrets at all (other than I wish I had done it sooner!)
The display is even better now and you have Poly AT

Why the hell not- the world is going to hell in a handbag, may as well have some 'fun', and that's what Live and PUSH is all about- smile in your face, everything's easy fun...I don't use any external VSTs, just treat Live and PUSH like hardware and its more than enough for me.
I have a lot of drum machine/grooveboxes (Elektron, Polyend Tracker, Circuit Tracks, MPC Live 2 etc) and I like them all for one reason or another (or they would be sold ) but if I could only have one of this type of thing, it would be Live + PUSH2!

Push is great. Came back to Ableton from Bitwig for it.
I also just use it as a Jam machine.
Anyone tried the Arcade series sequencers? Looks like a cool way to sequence some things that integrates well with push

I definitely use it more recently, but I'm not selling any of my DAWs any more. Just won't keep updating them to stay on the bleeding edge

I really hope they will add those important (arrangement) tools (and the midi files preview, for non-drummers' sake!). Oh, and "Grooves"! Those are really essential! The more I learn in Logic the more I get angry at Bitwig and Livepdxindy wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 4:12 amYeah... markers, arrangement markers, track alternatives... playing compositions from the Live Loops into Arrangement and then playing an entirely different composition of Live Loops as a track alternative... and, and, and...EnGee wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 2:19 am
Bitwig developers need to learn a thing or two from Logic especially the markers (that I'm keep complaining about)
https://www.groove3.com/tutorials/Logic ... ow-Markers
I think the Bitwig devs are developing stuff as fast as they can. I'm sure lots of things are on their todo list.
Anyway, I get that they have different audiences, but I'm amazed of how much is there in Logic! I just spent some money on some tutorials for Logic, so I'm eager to learn more.
What's am I doing here (in Windows!), let's go back to Logic

One of them is free https://isotonikstudios.com/product/pong-deluxe/ I have it and its a lot of fun and looks great on PUSH2...I will pick up the other at some point...but still so much Live 11 stuff to explore (there was generous amount of new instruments and fx all optimised for PUSH2!)

I don't have 10 on my machine anymore (never thought of copying out the demo files). There is some great stuff here also- it may be around on google...antic604 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 9:49 am Can anyone still on Live 10 share the demo project (Suite version)?

I constantly use VST's... I have no interest in giving up using VST's just to use a midi controller. Before I stopped using Live, I had already drifted away from Push. I didn't find it satisfying as a midi keyboard replacement so I used another controller for that. Push is mainly for Session, not Arrangement. After a while I realized I was using Push a fairly small percentage of the time and that it is big and takes up precious space. It eventually got packed away and I never really missed it.SLiC wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 8:21 am

Live + Push is not the same as those other drum machine/grooveboxes. You still need a computer. It is still a computer plus midi controller, not an actual standalone machine. Push has no audio or midi connections so you still need an audio interface to use it with another machine. I can connect 2-3 of my Elektron boxes together without a computer or other hardware.
