I often feel reminded of a children-parent conversation when reading some forum threads.
"Daddy, daddy... when will I get my present??"
"Tomorrow."
"But... but... I'm so excited! Will it have four wheels, and a remote control??"
"It will."
"But... daddy... last year I got a present which wasn't the one I was hoping for... will it really be this one this year??"
"Yes, it will..."

But I might be in my late 90's (if I live that long) to see it fully scalable.

Seriously, I doubt we will ever see Kontakt scalable. Not even Kontakt 12

There is no way they would release Kontakt 7 without it being scalable.

You can doubt all you want, but time will prove you wrong.Muziksculp wrote: Thu Jul 08, 2021 7:55 pm Seriously, I doubt we will ever see Kontakt scalable. Not even Kontakt 12

And if we were to have a similar opinion of Reaktor would we also be wrong?EvilDragon wrote: Thu Jul 08, 2021 9:56 pmYou can doubt all you want, but time will prove you wrong.Muziksculp wrote: Thu Jul 08, 2021 7:55 pm Seriously, I doubt we will ever see Kontakt scalable. Not even Kontakt 12![]()

The keyword here is 'TIME' , I would doubt that Kontakt 7, 8, 9, 10, or 11 will be scalable, maybe 12, but maybe not either.EvilDragon wrote: Thu Jul 08, 2021 9:56 pmYou can doubt all you want, but time will prove you wrong.Muziksculp wrote: Thu Jul 08, 2021 7:55 pm Seriously, I doubt we will ever see Kontakt scalable. The source code of Kontakt is super old, and will require a complete re-write for it to be scalable, that's why it has not been done so far, and we are in 2021, not 2001.

I believe Evil Dragon has some insight into what happens at Native Instruments and therefore knows some things the rest of us may not. If he says it's being worked on and next year....I take his word for it.Muziksculp wrote: Thu Jul 08, 2021 11:36 pm The source code of Kontakt is super old, and will require a complete re-write for it to be scalable, that's why it has not been done so far, and we are in 2021, not 2001.

OK....let's pay attention here...
Most of the updates that NI have released over the last few years have been to benefit their development of Maschine and Kontrol...
Ever since the two Ronnies took over the reigns at NI the company was on a downward spiral because their focus was on profits and not on the products that the end user wanted...
It was their vision of the future of sound and you had to fall into step with their plans because you were locked into their system...
Komplete Kontrol...
Now that the two Ronnie's have been given the flick, there is hope that there will be some signs of new life in the company...
NI used to make creative and inspiring products and it would be nice to think that they can get back to that vision and find the heart and soul that was once a part of the company's DNA

I have no doubt that the Kontakt GUI update is being worked on. And hopefully Reaktor as well. But the complication will be with Kontakt libraries and Reaktor ensembles with custom GUIs. I know that there's not much NI could do about background images, but I hope that knob and sliders and text boxes and all that will be scalable with the rest of the interface. FOr Kontakt and Reaktor. It would be nice to be able to make older ensembles and libraries bigger, even if it means stretching the background images and making those blurry.
