DAWs running under Rosetta can only host Intel plugins. This is important to note, given that at least one VST developer (Synapse) has chosen NOT to provide universal binaries, which means that you have to decide which version of the plugins to install - native or Intel. This means that if you installed the native versions, you cannot use them in a DAW running under Rosetta. In the case of Synapse, they are presently only providing native AUs, so it is probably possible to install the native AU, and the Intel VST.bardaxx wrote: Mon Jul 12, 2021 11:00 pm Stupid question but, If I use an Apple silicon plugin inside Live 11 that run on Rosetta, the plugin run native or via rosetta?
By the way, the reverse it not always true. DAWs running native can often host Intel plugins via a Rosetta2 bridge. Logic Pro can. Reaper can do this with VSTs but not AUs. I believe native Bitwig can host Intel plugins. Not sure about Digital Performer.

Not sure if anyone has suggested this yet - kinda daunting to read through pages and pages - but Plug-in Gurus ‘Unify’ is a life saver. All the instrument plugins that don’t work or don’t show up in Logic Pro X - arrange page or plugin manager - work as vst’s in ‘Unify’.

There are a number VSTs that can act as a bridge like this, but Unify is definitely one fo the best and most cost effective. Though this is not really an Apple Silicon vs. Intel thing.kelvyn wrote: Tue Jul 13, 2021 1:06 pm Not sure if anyone has suggested this yet - kinda daunting to read through pages and pages - but Plug-in Gurus ‘Unify’ is a life saver. If Plugin-Guru could release a native version of Unify that could also do Rosetta2 bridging for all AUs, VSTs, and VST3s, that would be an incredible help during this chaotic transition period.cadiz wrote: Tue Jul 13, 2021 1:15 pm Unify is not Universal yet so the functionality on M1 Macs might be limited

Valhalla effects are all official:

The "beta" seems to imply they are still in beta, to me at least, which might keep people away.

All Sugar Bytes plugins have been native for some time, as noted on my OP.
