Hi!
I was trying to search some tutorials for how to make brass sounds with Dune 3 (or trumpet). But can't seem to find anything for brass sounds.
well I did find this but this is not really "brass" what I am looking for: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyQgETkSqV8
Or are there any Brass sounds inside the Dune factory pack?
I am using demo version at the moment so don't have all the sounds.
Just interested to see/hear if Dune could make some phat brass sounds

Dune is a synth and it's not supposed to make realistic brass sounds. This tutorial is probably the closest you can get.

There are some (but not a lot) in Dune 2. I don't have v3 to check. The trick is mainly the envelope settings, LP filter with some cutoff dialed in, and you can use a saw waveform in one or 2 oscs.

Yes I was thinking maybe Dune would create some interesting/phat brass sounds since Dune has this “warm” sound and many type of filters to use. I don’t mean it has to be 100% authentic/realistic sounding.

There are several Brass patches in both the Dune 2 Factory patches (which are included with DUNE 3) and in the D3 factory patches as well.
Try 036 MyCeSar 80 KS in the D3 library, 007 Brassy Timbre EX and 030 ModPitch Brass MK in the D2 library for starters. There are more.

This is about as close I can get to a brass trumpet sound in Dune 3.

I also experimented with these sound and Dune 3 a bit. F.e. something like this. Not yet great but I think it can do such sounds nicely.

I can't try Dune3 anymore (the demo expired some time ago), but it should be easy to make a trumpet in Dune3.
I just made one in Retrologue2, derived from my saxophone patch

I used a single pulse wave, with a pretty extreme pulse width.
The rest is mostly an envelope -> pitch modulation and extensive use of the onboard equalizer. All of that should be possible in Dune3 as well.

And of course you could find a nicely looped Trumpet sample and load it into Osc3 in DUNE 3. A standard Trumpet only has a range of about three octaves anyway.
But it doesn't look like the OP cares any longer......
