It sounds like a simple 909 to me.

It doesn't to me. It's much punchier than a simple 909, but thanks for your reply. So do you think it's a 909 and then effected in some way? Effected how? or has it been pitched up do you think?

Edit: I have Samples From Mars 909 and i think it's fairly comprehensive but i can't find anything quite the same as the kickdrum above. The short 909 kicks tuned to E or F are the closest but not really the same. Thanks for your contribution that a 909 kick might be a starting point but i'm sure that there's more to it than that.

Edit: Actually "BD 909 Various 14" from Samples From Mars is quite close.

Sounds like a slightly distorted 909 to me. Most likely compressed a bit. Maybe just shaped using a sampler's audio envelope. Could have extra pitch modulation added via an envelope. It would be pretty simple to make a similar sound with any good synth. I would use Microtonic since it's my go-to for this sort of thing.
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.

Thanks, that helps.

You could probably emulate that with just a 909 vst.

I don't have a 909 vst. I already have a collection of 909 samples from Samples From Mars which i hadn't given much attention to before, but i've been through choosing the suitable samples now. Thanks pal.
