The goal was to create a track in Downtempo/Chillhop genre.

It was kinda busy month, so things are not perfect and not quite in a way I wanted them to be. Another spontaneous experiment that I'm glad I finished. It goes a little bit off, as I usually go crazy with my ideas, but I also found that Downtempo is kida wide genre with many different influences.

Instruments and techniques:

1. The main drum loop has taken from FL Studio stock library, edited to taste.
2. The percussion elements are taken from LinnDrum and TR-707 Samples From Mars packs.
3. U-He's 'Repro-1' used for a bass drone.
4. Ample Sound Guitar LP used for rhythm and solo electric guitar parts, processed with ToneLib GFX:
- Echo, Chorus and clean Fender '65 Twin Reverb emulation for rhythm part;
- Echo and overdriven Fender '65 Twin Reverb emulation for solo part.
5. Lo-fi pad from SampleScience 'Dreamwaves' with D16 'Decimort' samplerate reduction effect on it.
6. Synthetic strings from TAL Sampler's factory library (Fairlight).
7. Synthetic Vox sound from SampleScience 'Vaporwaves'.
8. SampleScience 'Room Piano' is a lo-fi piano library.
9. Female vocals from FL Studio stock library.
10. U-He's "ColourCopy" as a main echo send.
11. Eventide's "Blackhole" as a main reverb send.

Produced in FL Studio 20.8

Since all other entries are uploaded to SoundCloud, I decided to create a playlist and share it. An effort put to this tracks deserves to be admitted.

I like it. I think it could be edited dow a bit to 3 or 4 minutes. Has kind of a Better off Dead or John Hughes soundtrack vibe to me in the middle section.

Thanks for the comment! It may feel a bit too long because of the intro. It is not quite developed because the lack of time and feels a bit empty.

As of the drums I would not describe it as downtempo, but the other instrumentation refers clearly to some kind of balearic vibe. Nice.

As for all of my productions things kinda drifting here and there. I know there could be used more stylistically appropriate drum loop, but after editing and playing around with my beat I liked it too much...

Works with these drums also, of course. The junction of some harder drums, I heard out, counteracts well to the sound scape overall. The string ensemble just comes in great.. Fusion onwards
