I put two songs in my music website: "How It All Came To This" is the song on top, and "In The Long Term" is the next song down. Please tell me how you like the music and how it can be improved, and I will return the favor. Here is my link:

Ah, one of my favorite times of the month. New AA music.

"How It All Came To This" - I absolutely love the craziness of this one. Excellent performance. Especially that lead guitar. No complaints about the mix. Even the drums are good. Well done all the way around.

"In The Long Term" - Harder edge to this one. For some reason reminds me of Gene Simmons solo album when all the Kiss members came out with their albums at the same time. Remember that? Anyway, only nitpick about this one is the drums. At times they're so low in the mix you can barely hear them. Otherwise, sounds good.

Thanks for making my morning.

I really liked "In the long term" - some good vocal stuff and more melodic than "How it all..." which was a bit too chaotic for me.
Some nice guitar work on long term too. Well done.
(Don't bother searching for a new song from me, I've not done one in 6 months due to traveling/moving house etc.)

wagtunes,
Thank you for checking out my songs and reviewing them, I appreciate it! I am glad you took notice of the lead guitar in "How It All Came To This": I spent all sorts of time in Helix Native with various effects, including a virtual Whammy pedal emulation. I like me some KISS songs, though perhaps their solo material was a bigger thing in your region, as opposed to the Los Angeles area? I might have to check out Gene Simmons' solo album on youtube, assuming it is there. Glad I helped your morning yesterday.

Bansaw,
Thank you for the music review, I appreciate it! I had a feeling there would be differing opinions regarding which song is better. I owe you one.

How It All Came To This - This is actually a cool track but the vocals are way too loud. The drums could be punchier and you're missing something in the top end. Really it just needs a new mix. I like the feedback around the 2 min mark, but the synth keys seem out of place (because it's the only place they pop in before they return briefly after the 3-minute mark). If you're set on keeping the keys in, maybe there's a way to bring in the synth bass line (at 3:30) earlier? It'd help tie it all together more.

In The Long Term - The same thing with the mix. The vocals are too loud and the drums are buried. They need punch because you don't have the energy you should in this mix. The guitars at 1:47 are also too loud compared to the drums. - Is there a chance you're listening to the mix at too loud of a volume? I'm asking because our ears will naturally mix this song if played loud, but... You can get a better result making it so the song plays well at all volumes.
I would also revisit the vocals... which are cool (especially the higher pitch vocal). The two vocal tracks are competing at parts especially in the beginning making it hard to know which is the lead and which is the back-up.

elxsound,
Thank you for listening to the music and commenting, I appreciate it! I mix with Sony MDR-7506 headphones, which I think de-emphasize mid-range frequencies (includes vocals) a bit, and emphasize drums and high frequencies. I mix things at the volume I typically listen to the song at (my wife listens with my headphones at a significantly louder volume than me). Some people tell me I should mix with monitors; if I did that I'd drive my wife and daughter insane. I have had people tell me that I should mix at low volumes, but if I did that, I couldn't hear things as well, and then if I played the final mix at the volume I like, the Fletcher Munson effect would probably make the the bass frequencies sound louder than what I want. I'm not saying my mixes can't be better; I know they can. Though I've had it happen a few times where someone will say, "the vocals are too loud!", and another person reviewing the same exact song and mix will say, "the vocals are not loud enough!". I will now seek out your music.

Hello aaron noice tracks again. First, I'm agreeing with all the above from you and others about the mixes. Nothing is bad, in fact always close to a sonic aesthetic I spent my late teens and twenties in. As I said before I really like and recognize where you are coming from vocally and with your music in general. Always a mind to details and some groove. Just wish a little more clarity with your bottom end.
Both these new ones are what I expected but In The Long Term appealed more. Some creative guitar work in these tracks as usual.

You have a great style - I enjoyed the tracks, especially the second one. I like how they're a little tongue-in-cheek.
