Just my very own opinion, but : layering means revolution.
It's EVERYTHING I could dream of.
All the synths that allow layering since ever sound awesome to me.
Now I mainly use synths that allow layering.
Not that others go to bin, but layered synths always touch my heart and I know why.
Please don’t read the above post. It’s a stupid one. Simply pass.

Quite a few of the modern synths have 2 layers, but not as common in VA emulations.

A few examples of 2 layer synths are Hybrid 3, Vacuum Pro, SynthMaster 2, Chromaphone 3, and Surge.

Tracktion Collective, and Biotek 2, offer up to 12 layers, which is dependent on your computer's ability to handle that many.

Then there are emulations of old digital ROMplers, such as the Korg Triton, that have performance multis, where up to 8 parts can be stacked either as layers, or used as a multitimbral instrument with a different MIDI channel for each part.

Unify is an amazing plugin. Unlimited layers, based on your computer's ability! The package comes out of the box with a ton of built-in sounds based on the Guru sampler content and some free synths!

Plus, you can add any synth preset in your collection as a new layer!
