(sans soundcard and stock DAW.)

What was the last one you bought?

First: E-mu Proteus (late '90s)
Last: u-He Repro 1/5
Next: none ATM

First: Novation V-Station, early 2012.
Last: Waldorf Nave, a couple of weeks ago.

Next: No idea. Maybe a hardware synth. Been lusting for one for quite long now.

Last: Komplete 13
Next: No idea, have synths for years now. Maybe some libraries for Kontakt.

first bought: Reaktor 5 in 2005 i think
last bought: Icarus in 2019 - got I2 for free a few months later (newest in use is the free version of Vital though)
next: nothing planned, other than most likely the Zebra 3 update, should it ever surface.

I didn't started buying plugins until later in my musical timeline. I had Sonar 4 which had a good deal of plugins with it, but I guess those don't count (Rapture and others)

After that, the first official one I bought was either Battery 3 or Wusikstation v1.
The last one I bought just recently was HALion 6.

Next one I’ll buy: not sure atm

Way back when...I worked with Digidesign's Softsynth on the Atari ST, but it was standalone (no VSTs then, as it was around 1988).

Same here. I started buying stuff way after my first contact with audio software. Probably 10 years later or something, when I was more serious about getting into it.

latest: upgraded to V-Collection 8, does it count? Maybe SQ-80 qualifies better.
