My EDM song's drop is lacking (linked here), any advice on how I could improve it? Thank you!

I'm finalizing this track (chill/electronic) and I like how everything sounds except the drop- any tips or advice on what I could do to improve it? (starts at 1:39). Thanks a lot in advance!

I think it's bit too in ur face and stiff during the drop. Maybe make the chords less straight forward (having trouble making words that fit together properly).

Start by dialing the chord stabs back a bit. They are overpowering everything else and burying your drums in the mix. Sidechain to give the kick a bit more definition. The snare you're using felt kinda lacking so might want to look into switching or layering it.

There's not enough space (and/or dynamic change) contrasting between the pre-drop and the drop sections.
Try dropping the bass out a couple of bars early, and try dropping the kick out too. I.e. drop the low end out before the drop.
Then when the drop hits, bring your low end (bass, kick) back suddenly & powerfully.
The drop needs to be subtly louder than the pre-drop secion.

1. The chord stabs need a slower attack, try 1/8th note attacks for the typical "suck" effect...
2. Full 1/8th note chord stabs without playing with dynamics or filtering is too much - try less notes with a 1/8th or dotted 1/8th bandpass-filtered delay instead.

I wouldn't describe this as EDM. Its not even a dance track. Nice tune & vocal all the same.

The one thing I immediatly hear is you can pitch up the synths ! too muddy for a "drop". I think you distorted lover octaves or something ? so I would up pitch then OTT for this kinda thing

enjoyed all except for the horrible over sidechained supersaw stabs
a nice string ensemble would work better in this song, imho.
