Bitwish, a new community wishlist for Bitwig

This morning I started scratching an old itch and after a few hours of work I came up with a community wishlist for Bitwig.

https://bitwish.top/

It works! Except that the community and the wishes are missing. :) Join in! Everyone gets 10 votes and the opportunity to create and improve as many feature requests as they wish.

With the release of Bitwig 4.1 we got another wave of uncovered feature requests. And another one will come with Bitwig 4.2, and so on. Between releases, some people share new feature requests or bring back requests already discussed somewhere in the past. Reading all this is often interesting but at the same time... such a waste of time! Always starting a new, no cumulative effort. Like producing beats that bring some likes and are forgotten.

PS: If this project really ticks you, there are moderator and administrator seats available. Just bring a good Bitwig community track record and group jam spirit.

PS2: Lots of thanks to antic604 for the encouragement (just a few sentences, but coming from him was a great nudge...).

Finally someone has done it.... kinda shame that it's not Bitwig. Nice work

Brilliant idea!
Incredibly minor point, but your logo/image on the site seems to be cut at the end, so it looks like Bitwise, not Bitwish. This is in Firefox at least.

Yup, same on Chrome. I thought it's because I run Windows at 125%, but going back to 100% doesn't fix it either.

Do you need to make an account to vote for feature requests? If so I don't think it will get a great deal of use...may be better merging with the existing https://bitwiggers.com/

There was a 500+ strong vote for your most wished for feature here on KVR, didn't seem to influence the developers in any way!, but who knows...the next year+ of stuff is probably already set and under development now.
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S49MK2, Studio One, BWS, Live 12. PUSH 3 SA, Osmose, Summit, Pro 3, Prophet8, Syntakt, Digitone, Drumlogue, OP1-F, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Nord Drum3P, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Hm, the logo looks good in the browsers I have tried, so thank you for the reports. I'll work on this later today.

Yes, registration is required for two reasons: spam prevention and also to give votes a meaningful value. Each user gets 10 votes, no more, no less. If anonymous voting was possible, people with more time or stubbornness could bias the count, also troll by voting several times on a feature, bump irrelevant features or personal pet peeves, and so on.

I would love to collaboraybit Bitwiggers! I am a user there and have rated several entries. I just didn't want to bother anyone with this idea. As explained above, I woke up yesterday morning thinking "that's it, I have a day off, let's get this done". Which I did. From here it is simpler to discuss a possible integration, a discussion that is partly social, partly technical.

And while a one-time survey with 500 votes is a great feat, product development needs more structured and sophisticated feedback to be integrated in planning work.

The purpose of Bitwish is not to tell the Bitwig team "this is the most voted featured, IMPLEMENT IT NOW!". The purpose is to offer to the Bitwig community a better way to channel feedback, describing the desired features well, pointing to examples from other DAWs when available, helping other users understand features that maybe they didn't even know they were missing... And while doing this, we might be helping the Bitwig team find good points of connection between their roadmap and community wishes.

Yeh, I agree...it is something Bitwig should have on their own (as Presonus and Live do) it would show they have a interest in what users think....Didn't they once have there own places to post and vote for features and ask questions?

You may also want to link here- https://bitwig.community/

There are so many independent Bitwig sites popping up to cover things users need/want (probably as there is nothing official from Bitwig) it can be hard for people to keep up with what's where...In an idea world this would all be in one place!

I'm afraid that one more place to make wishes will not solve the real problem which is the complete loss of contact with the community by the Bitwig developers.

There is no problem so nothing to solve...

can't see any link to the vote based https://bitwish.top/votes ordering, but works ( vs https://forums.steinberg.net/c/cubase/6 ... rder=votes ) :tu:

maybe we should put it to our signature :D

btw. I would create a similar list for the shortkeys too, for ex. I miss a solo group/multiple tracks(on the inspector) ones

Hi guys! I’ve just recently moved over to Bitwig from Ableton and found it strange that Bitwig don’t have their own way to request and vote for features. I know you can email them but it’s not the same!

Anyway, looking forward to getting to know you all better as well as Bitwig!

You are right. Now the "vote" word in the banner points to that page. I'll confess that I didn't know that "/votes" would provide a consolidated list of votes from the Features and Drafts categories. Thank you!

For what is worth, there is a tag for shortcuts and already two related feature requests. Would you like to add yours?
