It's not about being clever, it's about being able to change things. Anyone willing to deal with Reaktor's innards and its idiosyncracies is far from stupid in my experience.

Yeah, right, there's an IQ test you have to pass before they'll take your money.

Right, because nobody actually uses Reaktor, ever. The whole concept of adding / changing / rebuilding the things NI made with Reaktor has never been done, nobody is clever enough --- oh wait, what's this? The Reaktor User Library contains literally dozens upon dozens of 'modified' NI Reaktor instruments and effects?
Because, shocker I know, people do indeed use Reaktor the way it was designed to be used: to open it up and work with the innards.
You're the only one not clever enough to 'get' that, Bones, but go ahead, fire back, I know it's impossible for you to be 'wrong' about anything, you are the Trump of this forum. So please, correct me, insult me, point out how dumb I am for the (quite literal) facts I've pointed out above.
But one more point: Super-8, as is, does not have a mono-legato mode. The first thing I asked in the NI forums when the (original, reaktor version) was released was "can I get some help modifying the ensemble so it has mono-legato?" and multiple folks -- including EvilDragon -- helped me figure it out. Sweet! The VST version -- can't be done. So there's one strike against, and one example of why Reaktor matters. Indeed, the NI devs weren't 'clever enough' to think about adding mono-legato behavior, even though zillions of current synths have it. That said, I'm sure you'll chime in to say "nobody but a moron wants to use a Mono legato mode anyway," because that's the Bone's way, a**holes gonna a**hole all day.

Apparently a recent update of Super 8 implemented an improvement where the cpu consumption is based on the number of voices used (like most synth synths), so that's cool.
I'd like to see mono legato added though. If it was so easy in the reaktor patch, I don't see why they would leave it out of the VST.

As far as I know all NI plugins can just be installed and are automatically in demo mode… It should definitely work with the Super 8 version which runs in Reaktor… As I got a Super 8 Reaktor version in demo mode here, though I do own the full plugin version of Super 8…Vortifex wrote: Fri Nov 19, 2021 12:46 pm Interested in this but still no demo available. How does CPU compare to Repro 5? And does it still have no mono legato?

When I tried to sell my license, NI transferred only the Reaktor version as the other one not transferrable! I thought they are connected because I only bought one version (the Reaktor version) and after a while they added the VST version for free!
Anyway NI support told the buyer that I still have the other one registered in my account. Yes I have it but it is not transferrable damn it! You (NI support) did that!
So, in the end I refunded the buyer his money and told him to keep the Reaktor license as I don't want to deal with NI shit again and again. So, I still have the VST while he has the Reaktor version
I still use other products from them, but to be honest I'm trying to avoid using NI products, but I really love the old classic synths and Maschine! So, I try to not think about their crazy support!
Oh, Super 8 (as other synths except Massive X) urgently need bigger sizes as it is from the smallest GUI I have on my 4k monitor! For the sound, I think it sounds really good with less than RePro CPU usage, but RePro sounds more analog and beefier.

I wouldn't be worried if I have 1080p monitor! It is fine with that resolution.

It's not possible to demo Super 8 R2 (or whatever they call the new version with VST3, which doesn't need Reaktor). It used to be possible with the Reaktor version, but, not anymore now. Guess they believe that most people will get it with Komplete.Vortifex wrote: Sat Nov 20, 2021 9:33 amThere is no possible way to do this as far as I can tell.Tj Shredder wrote: Sat Nov 20, 2021 7:21 amAs far as I know all NI plugins can just be installed and are automatically in demo mode
