Hi Guys,
My MacPro died so I have a new Mac, this new Mac runs BW without the GPU overheating, hoorah. So now I can go back to using Bitwig.
So I am on 3.0.3, I haven't really been taking too much notice of what has been changing, what benefits are there of going to 4.1 over 3.0.3?
Cheers
Andy

Do your homework, then. Only you can tell if stuff that's been added is useful for you, especially since we don't have any idea about your setup, workflow, music style, etc.

Quite a bit of stuff, unfortunately I just discovered that Max/Msp 7 doesn't start on Big Sur. The only piece of software so far that won't!
The Bitwig money may need to go to Cycling 74 instead, very annoying.

Well I'm on 3.2.8 and can only give you my personal opinion on this.
EQ+ is great. Fast worklfow, flexible. I only use other eq's for specific coloration.
Note chasing is really useful if you program and audition a lot of midi (I do).
I haven't updated after 3.2.8 because all other features are not that interesting to me.
If you use the grid extensively or record live, especially vocalists and need comping. I guess you should update. I don't. The grid is not my thing and if I record vocals or play live, I focus on a good take and rather prevent the need to comp bits together.
If I would currently be on 3.03 I might update for EQ+ and note chasing alone. If you own a good eq (e.g. fabfilter) there is little you are missing out. And even if you don't. EQ5 is a fine eq.
All in all I don't think you are missing out much.

There are also lots of small but valuable features. For example, the perceptual waveform display. I would not want to be without that now. Another small but constantly useful option is the ability to disable a mod source with shift click, and also a specific target. Great for A/B comparisons.
There are also various useful new key commands such as expanding track height. New export options including exporting to MP3. The content scaling is handy... and so on. Quick slice. Improved fades and audio editing.
I also use the updated Arpeggiator all the time. It's now my goto over 3rd party arps. It was too simple before. I regularly use the wavetable module. It is quite good!
I also use the comping all the time. Even when I am not doing classic comping, it is a powerful tool for creative audio editing. I would not want to go back to 3.0

Just do it - it's getting better all the time. Support the Bitwig team, wait for the imminent 4.1 and get a years updates as well.
Loads of little updates. EQ+ and the saturator are both really pretty good. Updated EQ graphics. Polymer is actually pretty decent.
Here's where you can find the full release history.

I would wait a year, or at least until next major release. Last 1,5 years were kind of unsatisfying, IMO. Maybe because most time still flows into ARM support or whatever. Or did the Bitwig team shrink? Seems to me that there is a lot less of work power... Also they resist to add most of the heavily requested base features. Sadly I upgraded myself, then got again nothing useful for me in 4.1 (same for last version). At least I got a very nice U-He synth

You could add to the list the vocoder, which I've never used, like most of the things listed there. It's nice there are some actual DAW features also. They alone are worth of the price.

Gotta love peer pressure
I think you'll enjoy the many small improvements. I just upgraded with 4.1 and it was like - great everything still works the same - but with lots of new options, modulators, note fx/toys etc. Haven't used the audio comping yet.
