Well see, let's unpack that for a minute and look at their claims. I have control of the arp of each layer on N3, it was one of the big selling points. There do seem to be some useful tweaks in the arp - it's very clumsy in use in N3 - but I don't get their headline claim that control over each layer is anything new.

The Librarian. The first two bullet points - "Featuring three columns for easy navigation. Counters for folders, categories, and presets to give you an overview at a glance". Lovely! And exactly what I have in N3.

Similarly, the first bullet point in the effects is "Full visualization of the signal-flow for real-time feedback". Like... in N3! The signal flow is clearly there. Again, there's a few new useful things - two new effects I think - but overall their blurb seems to me telling me that I really must have this great new feature that I already have.

This goes to the heart of why - as I type - 84% are not persuaded to upgrade. The feature list is so light, they have to lead with features we already have. Most can see through this pretty quickly. I think for new customers N4 represents a solid buy, just as N3 did with an extra 1% of fairy dust on top. For upgraders - nah.

It's all is looking like made quickly, maybe not enough thought out, for example: those missing presets from free Christmas pack, promo images on the main website still showing Nexus 3, others...

Yes, good spot- that's kinda hilarious - they're selling N4 using the features that are already in N3, and look here you can see how great it is whoops it's actually N3 and we couldn't tell the difference. Also the 260 new presets aren't tagged, another sign of it being rushed.

Everything ok over there, do you think?

I think they are tagged now..

For those of you who have refx license whose kvr profile makes it easy to figure out who you are.
Be careful what you say here...

I'm sorta aware of that possibility.

I've posted for years about Nexus, mostly really positive. I've always accepted it as a ROMpler, and it has its place in the world. N3 was a huge step up from N2 - plenty dissed it, I was very positive. I like the CP even. So that's the context for saying what I say now. I'm a long time user who feels they've dropped the ball here. If I'm not allowed to say that - oh well.

But here's what I won't do - I won't bombard them with complaints. Or even make one complaint. There's no point - they're not making me buy this. Either their sales will suffer or they won't. Either they'll address the issues or they won't.

I put down no even though I'm not a nexus user at all. I have played around at friends' places with it and I would grab it if I had a large job that called for a ton of "pop" electronic EDM tracks. Otherwise I feel there's not much in there that I couldn't whip up with stuff I already have. The "new features" in V4 wouldn't be enough for me to update much of anything unless it was like a $20 type situation.

Because one day you'll find your license revoked.

I think going that far would be illegal - as far as I understand it they have very occasionally blocked people and stopped them buying anything new. Again - AFAIK - that was due to direct support correspondence, not normal forum back and forth.

That would be fully illegal without full monetary reimbursement unless it's a subscription setup. Them they could just say "you can't renew your subscription when it expires". This is the reason I can't do subscription based software.

I'm less likely to ever consider getting into Nexus if they really are screwing with people like that. There's plenty of cool stuff out there without weirdness.

Nope.
My n3 license was revoked and I am banned from purchasing anything on their site.
I was told I opened too many tickets and bad talked nexus too much on kvr.
Still have my n2 licenses though.

I wont be 'upgrading' from N3 to N4, whilst I like N3, N4 doesnt justify the cost. N3 now uninstalled and gone.

What a truly bizarre thing they did. But I don't think they could do that in many cases. For example, I traded in my N2 license to swap for an expansion. So if they were so minded to stop me using N3, they'd have to refund me everything I ever had - which I think is spectacularly unlikely. In your case you could still use everything in its N2 form, they'd be stopping me being able to access old songs etc.

But - I think we're over-escalating/speculating here. This did come from your 1-1 support issues, I think the forum thing was a bit of extra ammo. AFAIK they've never hounded down a customer who said an upgrade doesn't represent good value on a forum.
