MX5 overdrive

The MX5 has poor overdrive sounds. For its price its a joke. The GT1 has better drive sounds for half the price. Anyone found a good add on box to marry into the MX5 that gives the better digital style gain sounds that are stock on the GT1.??? I don't want a pedal....rather a small FX box to color the lack of good drive or make the MX5 capable of making good drive..the MX5 does a lot of amp stuff but that is a separate thing....
