Omnisphere vs Rosetta

I just took possession of my new MacBook Air with shiny new M1 processor! Yay!
I've installed and authorized Omnisphere and it's working fine in the latest version of Logic. However, my DAW of choice is MuLab for now. As I don't think Jo will get to updating it for quite a while, I'm trying the Rosetta route for now before I jump ship.
It works fine as do my other Universal plugins that I brought with me. Omnisphere cleared the scan and is now properly listed, but when I instantiate it, it immediately blows up and throws an error report. The report tracks back to Omnisphere as the culprit, although this isn't always correct.
Question: has anybody successfully used Omnisphere under Rosetta? If so, which host are you using? There's probably a demo I can test with to help troubleshoot.
If I can get this to work, I can probably wait out the update which may come. If not, then I'll have to go DAW shopping. Probably Bitwig, but I'd rather not spend the extra money on that and get a couple of U-he plugins instead.

Why don't you just use Logic?

Most everybody is native on ARM now. Rosetta should be less needed.Introspective wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 4:59 amSorry, I am not at all vested in this conversation, but I have to ask:
...why are you using the past tense here?
Except in my case.

Anyway, thanks guys for the replies. I can go from here and do some testing to see if it's MuLab causing a ruckus, or it's my install.
I think I see Bitwig in my future...

Omni 1 in Logic on M1 16gb RAM/1 TB storage, Big Sur. No issues with Rosetta. Thinking of upgrading to get the Native support, but haven't made up my mind, yet.

Thanks, Tom.
I imagine that Apple will eventually drop Rosetta 2, the same as they did with the original version. Eventually, you may be forced to update. Personally, I'd love to see an Omnisphere v3 with a more open, modern GUI. Having to click through page after page to edit is my biggest gripe. (The new M1 takes care of my other, that Omnisphere eats CPUs for breakfast, lunch AND dinner!) Other than that, the native AU version is working great in Logic.

Works totally fine here with my M1 Max running OSX.12.1 in Bitwig and Ableton and as a standalone.
