Hey man. No gear shaming!
I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better?

No worries. I'm sure I've got a witty retort lying around here somewhere that's NSFW as well. Hilarity and bad taste will ensue as an off-topic thread goes even further off topic and onlookers will gawk like it's the wreck of a flaming busload of nuns and orphans crashing into a puppy and kitty hospital, played back in slow-motion. Then, the ban hammer will come crashing down...Introspective wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 2:05 amThere's a joke in here somewhere about a Greek master taking advantage of your touchstrip and polyphonic aftertouch, but it's late, I'm tired, and I have no overwhelming desire to get banned.

This is a weird neurotic conversation where you seem to want to undermine whatever I say, even if my statements are in agreement with your previous statements. I'm going to end it now. I sold off hardware because software is good enough now. I would much rather use a Juno emulation than bust out my hardware synth. But I won't sell the Juno for nostalgia reasons.
I have my hardware synths permanently plugged into my interface, it's not difficult to set them up to not be a pain at all. I still choose soft synths because most of the time I don't need something that fills up every area of a mix, and/or the emulation is just as good.

The only weird neurotic here is you. You're literally stating that hardware is better but you use software anyway. You're literally stating that you only use software because of convenience. Which is, weird. It's music we're talking about here, art.briefcasemanx wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 7:13 pmThis is a weird neurotic conversation where you seem to want to undermine whatever I say, even if my statements are in agreement with your previous statements. It is the internet though, and it's not the weirdest or most incongruent thing I've read about this topic.

I’d love to get Urs’s point of view here : why does he dislike U-He’s products so much ?
Please don’t read the above post. It’s a stupid one. Simply pass.

I want to love the Uhbik series, but the names are always confusing and without fail I load 1-2 other ones while looking for the one I want. Their oddly laid out knobs of big and small sizes are also annoying. It would better if they lined up the knobs and added sliders so they kinda lined up with midi controllers better. I love the sound of them, but my first issue really makes them collect dust while I reach for FabFilter who’s GUIs have never failed to get me from point A-B quickly, nor have they confused me with which one I would be opening.
